I posted a blog entry about some personal stuff I've been going through for over 6 weeks now, but the reason for posting it is not only to put thought into perspective but in the hopes someone will read it and it might help them in some way. That might be pretentious but I really hope that becomes the outcome.
The abridged version is pretty simple though.
I'm an introverted shut-in and even I benefit from the warmth and support of others. I might be confrontational even with friends but even that interaction makes me feel a little better each day. Every day is a good day when you get to talk to your friends. (And if you don't think every day can be a good day, try skipping a few.)
So talk to them about anything and everything, even nothing fights can have a positive impact on others. I've been lonely for years and I know how depressing it can be. When others genuinely care about and enjoy you, you gain a sense of value and warmth like nothing else. Friendship is a great anti-depressant. (Disclaimer: Not a substitute for proper medical treatment though it certainly helps as much as exercise and good diet.)
