My PSN id compromised ?

by

I got a letter from SCEA earlier today telling me that my account has been compromised .
I would be mad if this happened to me 2 - 3 years ago ,luckily I  use a debit card or a prepaid for PSN content .
I barely game on my PS3 anymore or any other console , I just use them to stream movies from my PC .
I just hope all my dl games and dlc is still intact  when it comes back online .

Anyway I mostly play my games on PC via steam  .
Anyone want to play Black Ops with me ? XD

I guess you haven't heard about what happened. Sony got hacked big time. The PSN is still down has been down a couple days. In Theory the hackers have gotten access to everybody's account information of people that have PSN accounts. To quote Sony's official press release concerning the matter, "a massive data breach occurred: An "unauthorized person" has PSN users' "name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID." Billing address, password questions, and credit card info may also have been taken." Here is a link to a article summing up what happened: Slashdot Link and here is a link directly to Sony's press release: Sony's Press release . Luckily I have a major distaste for console gaming and stick with the P.C. I do feel really sorry for all the PS3 owners out there though.

Yeah, I caught a news blurb about that earlier and was pissed. I'm gonna have to watch my bank accounts for a while now. :/

And can you hook a PS3 up to a computer? Can it record Let's Play vids that way?

Actually, it's been a big problem recently with PSN.  I don't pay for my PSN account, only the DLC.

Fortunately I've been playing Ps2 games since before this started but I'd like to get back to TDU2 soon. This whole thing started when Sony disabled the other OS capability after Hotz announced he was going to crack the Ps3. Its been back and forth ever since. I don't see anything wrong with homebrew and whatever they want to do but attacking Sony and causing problems for others is messed up.

Yeah, I had to call my bank to change my credit card number due to this mess. I think I'm going to stick to buying the points from the stores from now on.

All it takes is for one person to mess it up for everyone else.

I know that I don't even use Credit on my PSN account (I have a PSP, with Dissidia Duodecim DLC), so I'm probably safe. But every day I hear worse and worse news about PSN, and it makes me edgy, probably too nervous to buy a PS3. At a few points, I considered buying an XBox 360, and trading my PS3 stuff in towards such. Maybe I should wait until I KNOW it's safe to buy a PS3, and save money towards something else, like a trip to a far off cape town, where I can hit a beach, and experience being nude for the first time. This way, I can meet all sorts of women, old or otherwise.

Still, at least there's some good news. All sorts of organizations, FBI, Homeland Security, and 22 different states are all after those hackers. They'll pay for this.

Oops. Kinda double-posted there. You can delete the earlier one.

Here's a Newsflash that would even pique YOUR attention: PSN comes back this week, and all users of PSN are getting stuff!

"Each territory will be offering selected PlayStation entertainment content for free download. Specific details of this content will be announced in each region soon.
All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service. Current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service.
Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity subscribers (in countries where the service is available) will receive 30 days free service.
"

Basically, Sony's pulling out all the stops!
