Moving and Anthrocon

by
well i'm officially got a train ticket to depart Ohio on the 6th....

I'm still working out details about getting to Pittsburgh where train station is, hopefully be able to pay someone to get a ride....

but the way things may work out is that its friggin Anthrocon there that weekend...so depending on how things work out, may get a day pass to see before I have to leave.

So anyone going that may let me crash in their hotel for a nite?  ill be leaving at 330 am lol, I think i can leave my luggage at the amtrak station.

the problem with that is you can only take 1 suitcase on greyhound...so would have to UPS the rest, if I can get a ride there, then save on greyhound price plus UPS and keep my suitcases with me, i has 3, theyre free on amtrak

Not really. Greyhound lets you take more than one for a fee plus they also have something called bus freight. When I moved back down to florida that's how I moved all my stuff. MUCH cheaper than UPS to ship though they don't keep a firm deadline to get stuff there. 5 very large rubermade bins all weighing 60 - 100 lbs each only cost me $225 from Maine to Florida.

yea it would cost more to ship it 45 min via them than just to UPS down to florida

So you'll be passing through Pittsburgh during Anthrocon?

There's an Amtrak station across the street from the convention center.  From the Anthroncon website:
"Amtrak offers rail service to the Pittsburgh Rail Station, which is right across the street from the Westin Hotel, at 1100 Liberty Ave.  The station is serviced by Amtrak's Capitol Limited, running Chicago-Cleveland-Pittsburgh-Washington DC and points between"

You can also get a 10% discount off your train fare, if you're going to AC, and have a sleeper cabin, or a Business or First Class seat.  Convention Fare Code X40M-961.  But you have to talk to an agent in person or on the phone.
