Thumbnails for stories

Okay, so, if you see a story and it doesn't have a thumbnail, do you ignore it or do you read it? I generally don't read stories either way (for some reason, I just don't read furry work much even though I write it myself) but I can't help but think that seeing a little naked icon is just ho-hum.

Yeah, just the little book icon is offputting.
I read (and favorite!) your stuff because it's yours, but it'd be nice is there was at least something with the title of the story there.

Comment on the last three submissions (7 8 and 9?) and I'll make thumbs for all of them.

I think thumbnails make a big difference in getting that initial *grab* of attention that often means the difference between someone reading or not. I read "Downpayment" because of the thumbnail. I intend to read more of your work because I liked that one, but adding thumbnails would certainly boost the attention they get.

Now, do you want arty thumbnails, or just something? Honestly, I have art for that one because I do, I don't have art for any of my other stories really. I was going to just put up ones with the title, etc in them so people would know at a glance.

Hm, if you just do text thumbs, I'd say probably title and some brief hint at content would be good. Like some authors put 'm/m, cowboys, minor bondage' etc. Serves to deter those who wouldn't like it and attract those who would.
