"	How can I do something to clarify this situation? Please feel free to write a (non-obscene) suggestion on the back of a postcard, addressed to: The Director of Public Prosecutions, The Crown Prosecution Service, Rose Court, 2 Southwark Bridge, London, SE1 9HS.

This is a stupid new law that probably wont stick, but action needs to be sought now!

Actually, it became illegal when we passed the "anti-grooming" laws. Since there's no way to tell who's underage, and since merely speaking (with no sexual content) to underage people on the internet is counted as grooming, it's actually potentially illegal to contact anyone in the UK, though it'd be a fairly good defense to know the person in real life and know they were above age.
