by
the guy who sold it told me to not play it online before 14th Jun (official release date) ...cuz they will ban my account

but.. is that truth?.. i'm not getting a pirate copy, my ps3 is not a modded one, and certanly i'm not doing something ilegal.. right?...  what if the guy who sold it to me didn't told me about not playing it online... will sony still ban me? O_o

The guy who sold it to you wasn't supposed to sell it to you. It's not supposed to be for sale until the 14th (unless you live in Japan). If you try to play online, they'll know right away that something's not right, and it's within their rights to ban you.

Hes right. If you play before the actual release date theres a very high chance your account will be perma-banned.

The real question is, how did he get copies to sell early?   Any retail store doing so would be fined pretty damn heavily for each copy sold.  I believe its roughly around $2500.00 per.

if you ordered online like some of us, they ship early so then the games arrive on or close to the release date. mine arrived may 24th because gamestop fucked up the shipping and sent it express instead of standard lmfao

Stores get the shipments earlier, it's not practical to try and ship every copy out the day before the release.

if you get an early copy and you play it. they will ban you. just wait Pietro. just wait

you can play it all you want in single or any offline way, just not connect it to an online game :)

not really. the system records when it's first played. they can still tell when you first played it

Welp, I've played through the entire game Already with no bans after 2 weeks lmao.

I'm honestly poised to take it back to GameStop on Friday lmfao. Thought it would be good, but personally didn't find it so

I'd rather wait and not risk a banning if i was him.

now if you got it in STORE before the 14th the retailer will likely face the fines grimcreaper mentioned ._.

Yeah, just put it aside for a few days Pietro.  It's worth the wait.  I played the early demo that God Of War: Ascencion came with, and I can tell you that you will not be disappointed.

Yeah dude. Anyone who is logged in on the game before the release date, barring employees testing the game of course, its a red flag that they of course GOT the game before its release date. companies who sell the game before the release date can be HEAVILY fined for breaking street date. Its part of a license they agree to when they purchase the game directly from the manufacturer. They aren't even allowed to have the game on display until release date, let alone sell it. Only approved marketing is allowed. Any company which uses automated POS wouldn't dare sell it early, because it keeps a record of the time and date it is sold, so if they are called out on breaking street date they cannot prove they didn't.

sony does love going after people who break their rules. i would listen to the advice and.........actually, i'd just not play it until then...just to be safe, but that's just me.

now if something like that happened on xbox, i think the worst that would happen would be they'd ban you for a week or two, a month tops...but that would be it. sony, on the other hand, would likely ban you for life or some other ridiculous shit like that.

the guys right, if you try and play this online when you arent suppose to own it yet, is a chance you could get banned. I imagine explaining to sony someone sold you an early copy they may unlock it, but could cause all kinds of issues. Is sony trying to cover there ass really.

I would be weary, The guy who sold it to you had to of gotten it illegally. He must have gotten from someone at who works at a store that got their shipment in. The store I work for gets stuff in sometimes as early as three weeks depending on the season. Is it a different region? The PS3 is region free and if it already came out in japan or something then that might explain how he got it. but if it's not then that would most likely mean it is a piece of stolen merchandise.

This reminds me of when I bought Chrono Trigger from a local game store before the official release date. Good thing the SNES wasn't online :p
