Haha.. sad but true.

I'm one of the poor suckers that bought the Wii U on launch day, and still don't have anything worth hooking it up for yet.  Where's Metroid, Star Fox, Zelda, etc etc ad nausium.

Is the Wii U backwards compatible?

I'm not even sure that it is. Then again, I stopped paying attention to what the next-gen consoles brought knowing that it's all just a battle to see which console is the biggest whore. :P

To Wii, yes. But not for Gamecube games.(those you have to re-buy as download. But hey, it's at least an option![and I still have my originals since the NES days XP])

re-buy them? Fuck. Well I'm glad I have a gamecube then.

LOL, you're not suposed to buy them if you already have them in the first place. ;)
It's more for when your original copy is crap (scratches etc.) and you don't feel like switching wires! I personally have all my consoles connected at all time anyway. Granted, I usually use the Wii for Gamecube games, since it puts out a better video signal for my recorder. ^^

Yeah but if your gamecube goes out..

you can play them on the Wii.

or buy a replacement gamecube on ebay for about 20-30 bucks.

or download the Wii&Gamecube emulator 'Dolphin' for your high-end PC. ^^

there are always options with Nintendo.

I don't have an issue... Here, pick what you like. ^^

granted, until the new first-party titles show up, I mostly use the online store to buy gamecube titles I never found a hardcopy off.

I personally disagree with Yahtzee a lot, so I usually don't give a crap about his opinion, especially since he takes EVERY fucking chance to pick on Nintendo actually innovating shit... even though they did that since the Launch of the NES.

if he would have a say, Nintendo would be out of business tomorrow... but obviously they seem to know what they are doing, since they keep staying strong since decades.

Yeah I like Nintendo, too, and it's not like there will NEVER be games for the U, and until there are, it plays Wii games! The N64 didn't launch with very many games at all, right? Everyone loves it now. Still, most other things he says are things I just can't help but scream "THANK YOU" when he says it, particularly on things like microtransactions and anti-piracy garbage.

which are not on the Wii U XD
Those are justified complaints, but mostly directed to the XBONE.
Hell.. Nintendo doesn't even have DLC... granted, for better AND worse, but still, they are FAR from Microtransactions XD
Also, Nintendo doesn't have good online yet... but that also means that they don't have the possibility to do always-online or some shit like that... it would also go against their very business policy.

Better were the days without DLC. I don't have good online anyway, so that doesn't really matter to me =P Except for the console that requires it. Also not being able to connect it to my SD TV? I call horse-shit on that decision.
