I hope something is done about this treasonous breach of the 4th amendment.

Not that its acceptable by any means, but I'm just glad I haven't done anything criminal in the last ... ever.

There is a statute of limitations placed on most crimes. After a certain amount of time, you cannot be charged with it.

Better start saving so you can afford a lawyer who knows what the words "ex post facto" mean. It'll be expensive.

It started under an R, it expanded under a D, it'd be nice if we could get past our petty partisan bickering and face the fact that any power handed to "authority", R or D, will be abused, period, but I'm not holding my breath. Just sucks I might experience the tangible collapse in my lifetime.

Exercise a family member tried on me was going back to 500 AD and asking a Roman what they thought about the fall of Rome, and their response would be, "Rome fell?" Historians pegged the date earlier from the benefit of hindsight, but they didn't in any real sense see their nation as having collapsed even then.
Fast forward to today, and some historian from 3,200 AD visits us and asks us what we think of the fall of the US, "huh?"
Could very well be possible the initial decline is past us already, there'll still be a hunk of land 1,000 years from now called "USA", but likely nothing like the society and democracy we know now.

g**d*** history is depressing.

yeah I have been made aware of this honestly...I am sickened to my CORE. This is MY country were talking about and it's doing something like this, behind my back. The worst part is im not surprised I was expecting this to happen.

I don't care if the only thing they are doing is looking for the "terrorists" it's still WRONG. You don't defend liberty by PISSING on it.

What did you do about it in 2005 when this first came to light?

NarusInsight??  Hepting v. AT&T class action in 2006??

This faux outrange is laughable.

i was 19 then, that case got very little media attention at least to my knowlage, and I spent a great deal less time on the internet...So NO I diddent know about it.

Your negativity confuses me, theres nothing "faux"  about my "outrage". In fact, if you've been so damn enlightened all along rather then the "I told you so, to late to be mad now" crap how about just being glad more people are taking notice, hmm? ;)

Actually they can and do. Apparently all data that happens to run through the USA is consumed by this thing.

Lawsuits...I see lawsuits in the future.

They're not going to say who's data they've looked at, so unless they actually do something with that data you'll never know for sure. And hence, no lawsuits, at least in that way. Now Americans and their 4th amendment has been pretty much trampled so we'll see where this goes.

I guess I'll have to say it: What the fuck, Obama? >=(

More like WTF Bush.  Odds are that he started it, and Obama just didn't end it.  Both would be to blame, but Bush ain't prez anymore so we could lynch him.
