...Say whut now?

Okay...so I get that Cartoon Network has been on a very, very sharp decline lately, and I mean really bad. It's like they're intentionally attempting to selfdestruct. So...we've had issues with them spamming the Spiderman movies, the Ace Ventura movie nobody liked, and the Son of a...I mean Son of the Mask. But why for all things that's good, awesome, and cartooney...why are they showing the original Wizard of Oz movie? Like...how hard is it to dig into the 90's archive of movies to attempt to show. Yeah, Wizard of Oz is a beautiful classic. But it doesn't belong. It's like me throwing a piece of salami inbetween a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Yeah salami is good but there are just some places that it does not belong.

I wish to know what logic the execs at Cartoon Network is using.

To a degree I think (As far as there own original content) goes they've started to enter a second golden age with shows like Flap Jack, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Sym-Bionic Titan, Generator Rex, etc. Course I am mad at the supposed Cancellation of Sym-Bionic Titan. Still just rumors at this point but there everywhere. I'm gonna be so pissed if it's true.

I wouldn't be surprised. Titan got shafted to Sunday Mornings, when nobody's paying attention. Flapjack has been cancelled for a while. And two new shows, The something world of Gumball and Problem Solvers...well Problem Solvers is out and it's like a show for stoned children. It goes beyond retarded. So just as it SEEMED Cartoon Network started to know what they were doing, they apparently forgot what good ratings meant.

The reason titan got canceled is no one wanted to make the toys in the current economic climate.  and with no merch money comming in they felt they couldnt afford it

I can't believe people in a boardroom approve this dreck.  Not calling Oz dreck, but...how about cartoons on Cartoon Network?

Fuck Scooby-Doo, bring back Samurai Jack, keep the current prime time roster...just target yoir audience, guys!

That said, Gumball looks interesting.

Some shows need to go:

1. The Total Drama shit needs to be put to rest . . . painfully.
2. Hole In The Wall would be better on Nick.
3. Chowder can stay, Flapjack can go, Adventure Time is alright, but should be at a better time and on a bit more often.
4. Keep Regular show, but put it on a later time of the day, since it's geared towards young adults and not kids, and of course . . .
5. BRING BACK THE FUCKING CARTOON CARTOONS ALREADY.  Those shows were comical, well thought-out and had fun plots in each little seven to ten minute episodes.  Clearly they had better writers than most of the garbage on CN now.

I miss the old CartoonNetwork when I was little, with Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, the classic Scooby-Doo and original CartoonNetwork movies.

Cartoon cartoons died a little before Toonami. Its rather disappointing because that's when they knew how to truly care about their fanbase. But cartoons are decaying faster than a hillbilly's tooth. Look at what happened to Spongebob. Yeah, the show was great. But if you watch the show now, its nothing near as good as it was pre-movie, since it's devolved into gross out comedy.

-Total Drama was fairly funny, but it's not a CN original. They nabbed that, George of the Jungle, and 6Teen from Canada. Yeah, they're that desperate, they're dragging Canadian cartoons into the mix.
-Hole in the Wall was popular on the internet, doesn't belong here. Yeah, it could go fail elsewhere, like Nick. And if anything, due to it being a game show. Reruns are very, VERY much not appreciated.
-Chowder's died, Flapjack's dead. Adventure Time is sticking around for a while.
-Regular Show has not only been renewed but people love it so much that they've extended it to half an hour, which is awesome. But the fanbase is variant, since my family carries 3 very different Demographic. 40+ Year old Black female, 20+ Black male, 13 and under  black female. We all love the show.
-Cartoon Cartoons have gone the same way as Toonami, Miguzi, and anything remotely interesting on the channel. If you've noticed, they've even taken the childishness out of their logo.
1. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6e/Car... - It was pretty good, not too professional and it had energy.
2. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c9/Cartoon_... - Unprofessional looking, diagonals, and still has a bit of energy. As a cartoon channel dedicated toward children should have.
3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CARTOON_NETWORK_logo... Straight, boring, and to the point. Doesn't belong.

And yes. I miss it all too. Al the old classics have been shoehorned to early, early morning. I get my fix of looney tunes but only because my sleep schedule is crap. x3

The reason this is happening is because the audience is evolving . . . but the shows are devolving.

Plus, I dislike Billy and Mandy (super grossout comedy that even Ren and Stimpy would HWARF! over . . . and that's really bad), but I find Johnny Test not too bad, it somewhat belongs.

It also had clever snarky comedy, which is pretty funny. It's the whole smartassy things about the shows that made them good. Gross, yes, but parts of it were fairly clever. That's one of the big things about the shows that they used to have that made them good. But when you look at MAD, there's a major lack in clever and just nothing but poop, fart, and just sheer nasty stuff without a purpose. The audience is...I wouldn't say evolving, more like devolving.

Kids these days find that Garfield show funny, after all

What I meant was is that the audience is evolving, but the media doesn't get it, so they pump out mediocre mainstream bullcrap, thinking the newer crowd will enjoy it.  Billy and Mandy did have it's moments, but I just never really liked the show and MAD is just shows how mentally retarded the original parody magazine has become, as if they weren't dumb and gross enough back then.

SN has been using Canadian developers for a long time Kit. Code Lyoko was a series in the mid 2000's that was a Canadian original... kind of an anime inspired series that aired on Toonami for a while. it had a very good plot and some excellent music to it.

I may not have TV anymore. But I know that Cartoon Network is definitely going down the shitter, ever since they finally ended the longest-running series. Hell, I'd even prefer to watch MTV than CN anymore, and I hate MTV!
MaverickSkye

I don't even know if I can do THAT either. They've entirely abandoned their concept. They are what CN is becoming.

Cartoon Network just isn't Cartoon Network anymore just the same as how Nickelodeon isn't Nickelodeon and Disney isn't Disney. In fact, as far as Disney goes, current Co-Chair Anne Sweeney said herself that the main goal isn't to entertain, but to make money, officially stating that Disney Chanel is "the major profit driver for the (Walt Disney) Company."

Now, knowing that, I wouldn't be surprised if Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon both have the same way of thinking. None of the networks we grew up with are actually caring to air anything remotely like what kept them popular last generation.

And why the hell should they care if they make money? or atleast that is their general attitude towards it.... I dunno about you but cartoon network, disney, AND nickelodeon all need to bring back their classics... The stuff that hooked kids into cartoons for 30 minutes at a time....

Aren't most kids' channels in a downward spiral right now? And hell, I agree with so many others in here... |3;;

Another concern of mine, is the junior Disney Channel. Playhouse or something, I can't remember... Ugh, I don't know where to start with that one. x.x
