mission impossible

by
I recently found and got hooked on the original 1966 show Mission Impossible. No Tom Cruise here! It's an incredibly cool show. Lots of spies, old technology, self destructing tapes, impersonations, escapes, and stuff that could actually be used in a real life situation. No science fiction here, no sir. If you're a fan of James Bond, or the Mission Impossible movies, give the original series of MI a try. You just might get hooked like i did ^.^

I'm on the first season right now. You can watch most of them in any order. Here's a couple of my favorite episodes:
Mission Impossible Season 1 Episode: "A Spool There Was"
Mission Impossible Season One "The Train"
Mission Impossible Season One "The Frame"

If you've seen at least one of the intro scenes above with the self destructing tapes, then watch this lil scene from "Get Smart". It made me laugh so hard after watching nearly all season one of Mission Impossible ^^

People tend to forget the classics.  Mission Impossible and Get Smart may be old, but they're the forefathers for modern day spy movies and comedies.
Example: Get Smart was written by Mel Brooks before he produced his first movie.

Don't forget the iconic original MI theme song (with all its very-period late-60s percussion) and very-clever opening sequence with the lit, running fuse, that always added a sense of tension and "Time's running out!", before the episode itself even got started.

you're right about new movies and shows are just special effects and explosion everywhere @_@
Seems like a pretty good show to me :)

MI was a great show, and although the technology is old now, at the time it was cutting-edge.  I still love the theme song.
I particularly remember the episode where they have to get past a hallway filled with invisible laser beams, set to trip an alarm, in order to swap some artifact on display in a museum.
