TMI Tuesday- a visit with Ray

Something a little different this time! Ray Goldstein, male human!  Ray of course is the mate of the lovely Tina. Thought it might be fun to get the perspective of a human partner to a hybrid. Ray will answer any serious question, including those about being in a relationship with a hybrid.

Ray: Now THAT'S serious! Let me see.....
1. I was kind of sheltered, going to yeshiva growing up, so no, there really weren't any human/hybrid couples where I was. Remember, my parents were Orthodox Jews.
2.No. Mostly, our friends and neighbors were Orthodox, like us.
3.Yes. I'm not...not exactly a chick magnet. When I was out in Silicon Valley, I got to see hybrids, and human/hybrid couples. Of course, when I returned, there were a lot of hybrids. When I went to work for the state, the DMV was full of them.
4.Remember, this is my story, which began a few years ago. Things have changed a lot since. I won't say, since I don't want to spoil the story, but yes, telling my parents was something we got to do. It wasn't necessarily fun.
5.(smiles) Yup.......
6.Hmmmmm. I knew that I liked Tina from the start. She was fun, so pretty and smart. I believe that love happens over time. Still, I knew Tina was special from the start.
7. Stay tuned.....
8. We're talking the state of New Jersey! Besides, I'm the head of IT; if there WERE anything like that in the employee handbook, I would have deleted it! Wait.....I didn't say that.......
9.Looking back, I recall seeing them on the street, on construction crews, stuff like that. But, they were just...workers. I really didn't think about them. They weren't like us.
10.The story began around six or seven years ago. 2006/2007, give or take.
11.It was the first time for both Tina and I.
12. Yes. There are cats, wolves, other exotic stuff. Way more dogs, though. And at least one Fox :-)
13. I like kids. So does Tina. How many? We'll have to see. Hybrids can come in litters, you know.
14. I certainly hope they LOOK like her! The girls, anyway. Maybe they can get their brains from Dad? I'm pretty artistic, too; I'd like to see someone continue that.
15.Yes, my family is Orthodox, the most traditional branch of Judaism. Frankly, Tina being Catholic is a bigger deal than her being Hybrid.
16. Tina and I have many Hybrid friends; a lot of them at work. Some of them date humans; some of my human friends date hybrids, so yeah..
17. Maybe even a little better. I understand there's something called 'Hybrid Vigor'. That means that nature tends to take the most adaptive traits from each. Hybrids can live as long or longer than humans. Their reproductive life is longer as well. Of course it depends on lifestyle. Smoking is even worse for hybrids than humans. A lot of Cancer in young hybrids who smoke.
18. I think that ultimately, people need their own space. But, things happen in life. We don't always get to live as we choose. I'll leave it at that.
19. Yes. I try not to dwell on it, but yeah. The newcomers have made a lot of strides since they were liberated. They're legally 'human'. But, there are always the intolerant, the ignorant, and drunks. I've been called things....
20. When the Great Emancipation took place, hybrids acquired full rights of citizenship. Of course, spending lives in captivity, ownership, or various kinds of servitude took it's toll. Many of the older ones will never be the same. Like everyone, memories fade, and some of the old ones feel that the young people should always remember what the captivity was like. Mostly, young hybrids want to date, drive, and enjoy friends and music, just like human kids.
There, I think that covers it. May be a good time to remind folks that 'Tina's story' the book is available in my gallery on SoFurry, if you want to read ahead in the text.

Glad you appreciated it. Clearly, you are a fan, and asked some thoughtful, interesting questions that would be of general interest to folks who follow the story. Mostly, TMI Tuesday means some form of "Would (insert name of character here) have sex with me? Yours were a cut above, so I took the chance to give you a more serious and detailed response.
Remember that I don't restrict this to TMI Tuesday. I welcome fans at anytime. I'm more than happy to talk about my work whenever.

I'll do it as long as I am able. With Tina, the artist and I made a long term commitment. There should be many more years of Tina.
