GTFO BSOD

Please read the whole journal.

Well, here it is. I've been constantly asked over and over and over again when I'm going to open commissions, and now I am.

Here's the game plan. As the title sort of indicates, I'm getting severely agitated by my current rig. It's not a bad computer in any means, but test after test after test I still can't isolate the problem. So, I figure it just be a good idea to scrap and use the recent parts I got for it and start all over. But I need your guys help.

There's a change in how I normally do things, because my old way always left me with being behind on commissions.

I'll be doing blitz commissions, at least that's what I'm calling them. I'll open up 3 slots, first come first serve. But don't worry if you don't get in the first time. By the week's end I'll have them done or close to finished and I'll be opening another 3 slots. One customer per opening (I don't want one person taking 2 or 3 slots).

I will announce when I open so look out for that. It will be starting this Friday and the opening will be every Friday after that until I've reached my goal. This journal is just a heads up, to give everyone a fair chance.

Do not send me a note until Friday. I repeat, DO NOT SEND ME A NOTE CLAIMING A SPOT UNTIL FRIDAY. If you do, I will delete it without a second glance.

Prices are listed here. The prices have changed.

P.S.
And for future notice, since I get asked this a lot. DO NOT ASK ME FOR PERMISSION TO POST THE ART I DRAW FOR YOU. Seriously, it's yours. Do whatever you want with it. If you bought a piece of pie from the bakery, you're not going to ask the cook if you can eat it. I just ask that you mention my name.

I don't know why. But it gets annoying telling almost everyone the same thing. I figure it's just to be courteous. But, yeah...

I ask artists, myself if I don't know if they're okay with it. it's only polite if they don't expressly say it's okay. Some artist might not like their art on some sites. It avoids potential drama.

Some artists are actually really uppity about asking their permission. I've seen some that flat out don't allow it too. So I'd say most people ask first to be courteous and to avoid drama.

dumbest thing ever. not allowing something you paid for to be reposted. makes no sense, long as proper credit is given...

Absolutely agreed.

Some people ask to make sure its alright to do so. Some artists are...picky about when their art is uploaded by others who have commissioned them. Its kind of weird if you ask me. I always tell them to upload when they get it so everyone knows its for them.

Wait, do you want us to mention your name *while* we're eating the pie? Because that might be hard.

Also, that journal link should be "view" and not "edit"

Yes. While you are eating it.

And I fixed it.

If you commision a 'work for hire' its yours. There is never a need to ask unless the contents of the picture is trademarked/copyrighted by someone else  (Disney, Marvel or Nintendo characters for example).  Asking is pointless. Thinking you can deny permission is even more pointless

In the US, its not "work for hire" unless explicitly stated in an agreement. The artist still owns the copyright on the art (though you own the copyright on your own characters in it). It is a pain in the ass and wasnt really written with furry porn commissions in mind =p

I have seen a few artists who are really uppity. I just take my money elsewhere.

when it came to diagnosing troublesome computer systems, i earned the nickname 'Dr. House' at my old job- and not because of an addiction to pain pills. talk with me and i may be able to help isolate the cause of your issues.

I'm not even going to bother trying to fix it anymore. I've tried and tried, had help from others and nothing works. I'm just starting over new. Plus I've been wanting a new one anyway.

Can I have permission to sit on your lap while you draw?  :3

I hope this fixes your issues once and for all, because pissed off artists are the worst kind.

If you're going to do a complete rebuild, I suggest just trying a new motherboard first (one that fits an AM3 socket). Everything in there is pretty solid, but I probably should've spent a but more for a better motherboard.
