Well if what i was told is correct, the creator made it to represent him and his love. He was north korean (aka the cats) and she was soith korean (aka the bunnies). Theres a smidgen more but i cant recall what :/

lol, it might as well be an expansion cause it plays exactly the same, also you can carry over your character from the first. I deleted mine after I got rid of the first game though. Definitely regretting that one. I had a deathstalker zed's demise, all of the developer crafts... Just had a thought. I think you can carry over the weapons as well, if so then the developer mods should transfer as well. I'm going to look into this and see if I need to re-buy the first game so I can get them.
