A great mobile IM app is Trillian Astra but it's got a premium pricetag. :/

It's just designed with much older PC's in mind and thus it's very minimal in its approach. c:
I've been using for a couple years now and I know people who've been on it even long. :O

Skype's mobile app is much better now, btw. :D no more forced landscape as of... two? versions ago. c:
There's Steam too, the mobile app for that is nicely featured with a chat history of up to a week. :D
