So out for a walk yesterday with a friend we stumbled across a little abandoned kitten whose eyes were swollen shut with puss and infection. Other than that, some fleas, and a few sneezes the kitty seemed to be mostly healthy (no broken bones, no swollen abdomen, it was very talkative, wasn't throwing up, didn't have diarrhea, etc.) After doing some snooping and calling around we finally found someone who was willing to take the kitten from us, but she couldn't take him/her until today so we packed the poor little fella up and rode with another friend to yet ANOTHER friend's house (since he didn't have any other pets that could be infected). We fed the cat at my place before heading out. 2 of my friends bathed the kitten when we arrived at our destination and cleared out its eyes for it. And this morning we handed it off to the person who was willing to take it from us, who said she was taking it to the Vet, so hopefully the kitten will make it.
The thing is, scenarios like this show both the worst and best side of humanity. I am just glad that my friends and I are playing for the good side. :P (I've got a decent idea who abandoned the kitty too, even though he denied it was his kitten; I don't believe him, yet without proof I can't directly point a finger.)
