Survey for people attracted to minors

I'm making this journal to share an anonymous survey to be taken by people who are attracted to kids (14 and under) in real life. I'm guessing this applies to a lot of my watchers, even if they might not admit it. The idea is that this survey will reach a wider audience of minor-attracted people (like, people who haven't been convicted of a crime), in hopes of challenging negative stereotypes about people who are attracted to kids. Not sure if it'll do any good, but I figured it was worth a try and completed it myself. At the very least, some of the questions were kinda fun, like: "on a scale of 1 to 10, how much would it turn you on to do this with a kid?" (paraphrased by me).

If it applies to you, please take the survey and/or discuss it in the comments! Share it with your friends!

Here's the info I got, with a link to the survey at the bottom:

" Below, you'll see a call for people who are attracted to children to take an anonymous survey being conducted by researchers at Northwestern University in Chicago. No identifying information will be collected (IP numbers will NOT be collected) and no questions will be asked about unadjudicated illegal behavior.

The researchers conducting this survey solicited B4U-ACT's help to provide perspectives and items for the survey, and to improve on their ideas. B4U-ACT agreed to promote the survey in the BL/GL communities. We've done this because we see it as a way of challenging stereotypes by getting more representative samples and gathering data on issues more relevant to us than what the mainstream looks at. If you think this survey could help BLs/GLs, please pass this email on to others.

Please keep in mind the following (from B4U-ACT's policy on working with researchers at http://b4uact.org/researchethos.htm):

When people see B4U-ACT posting calls for participants, they can be assured that, to the best of our knowledge, the following are true:

1)  The researchers are committed to promoting the well-being of MAPs.
2)  The researchers treat MAPs with respect.
3) The researchers are committed to understanding MAPs and have demonstrated a willingness to talk with and develop collaborative relationships with MAPs by working together with B4U-ACT throughout their research process and often by attending our workshops.
4)  The researchers will not ask participants about unadjudicated illegal activities.

By helping a researcher to recruit participants, we are not endorsing all assumptions involved in their research.  There are a number of controversial issues in this area on which researchers and MAPs alike disagree amongst themselves and on which B4U-ACT takes no position. (For more information, see http://b4uact.org/issuesofagreement.htm)  By helping to recruit participants on a researcher’s behalf, B4U-ACT is communicating that, to the best of our knowledge, researchers are following the four guidelines above.

Here is the announcement of the study from the researchers:

*****
We are researchers at Northwestern University, Department of Psychology, under the supervision of Professor Michael Bailey. We are conducting a survey of men and women sexually attracted to young persons (defined in this study as persons aged 14 or younger). The purposes of this survey include exploration of: the development and phenomenology of attraction to young persons; the experiences of individuals attracted to young persons discussing their feelings with mental health professionals and important acquaintances/relatives; differences among individuals attracted to young persons between those who act on them and those who do not act on them (Note that we will not ask you about any illegal acts you may or may not have committed except those known to legal authorities.); and aspects of your sexuality that have not been studied well previously, such as the degree of your attractions to adults and to the idea of being a child. We are administering this survey anonymously, and we do not collect ip or email addresses. The link to the study is:

Pfft. I'll have you know I'm only attracted to fictional, non-human anthropomorphic characters!

Human kids are just icky. Heck, most human adults, too. ;-p

Aww. I don't think the survey would apply in that case. :P

Also, I used to tell myself the same thing for a few years until I really figured stuff out. :P

I meant like, the end result, like when they release their findings

Yeah, that's what I meant too. I just don't know how they plan to release them. But I will let people know if I find out!

Is B4U-ACT supposed to stand for something? It sounds like some late 90s anti-bullying thing that would come to the middle school gym and teach peer mediation with jump roping skits. (Took the survey btw)

It does sound a bit 90s in that sense, yes. :P When I first heard the name I thought it meant something like "go get therapy before you act on your sick pedo feelings" but I think it's actually more like "think before you assume that all minor-attracted people are bad". I don't think it's an acronym, but I'm not sure.

Hmm.. I'm more interested in the results. Are they going to reveal what data they collected?

I hope so! At this point, all the information I have is in this journal.

I wonder if there have been other surveys like this. It's also nice that they're trying to include all CLs and not just doing a survey of criminals and those receiving psychiatric care (I'm in the latter, but not for hebephilia). If I hadn't been exhausted, distracted, and busy lately, I would have taken this by now. I'm eager to see what they'll ask me.

Just took it. I outright refused to answer a few questions because there was no 'Depends' or 'Other' option. Some things I cannot answer in a 'yes or no' format. There were also a couple of questions about struggling with impulses that had an option that sounded like, "No, I do what I want with kids because sex with them is fine." But, on the whole, it seemed comprehensive and well done.

Also, one of the pages at the end sounded like an autism questionnaire. Maybe they suspect there's a link between HFA and pedo/hebephilia? There is a link between HFA and substance abuse, I know that.
