I'm on Inkbunny

I figured I might as well sign up here. All the cool kids are doing it.

Mass-uploading old artwork is a mega pain in the ass, though, so don't expect a huge amount of art here.

And for anyone who stumbles across this who'd like to see my other stuff, my FA account is https://www.furaffinity.net/user/ixerin/

Aww. It's not that bad . . . maybe you could select what you consider your better works and just bulk-upload and tag those to start with?

I should really do that "account transfer" program I've been thinking about for months. If only I had the time . . .

An account transfer program would be AMAZING. I tried the bulk uploader here (zip a bunch of things and upload them all at once) but I kept getting an error every time I tried it. I rezipped it and tried again, still got the same error. No idea what that was about, the size was well below the maximum, the zip had no directories, etc. Maybe it was just my connection being a dick or something. Either way, I've given up for now. xp

Perhaps you could put the zip up on a file uploading website and I could take a look at it to see what the problem is?

Bear in mind that you can't just zip a directory containing all your files, otherwise that's "a zip containing a directory" - you have to select or drag all the files into the zip. Also, OSX has a nasty habit of creating a zip with a hidden resource fork directory when using the default tool.

I was afraid this might be the issue. I had this problem a long time ago with something else, and I don't remember how I solved it. Maybe I'll have to boot XP to deal with it. Thanks for your offer to help, I appreciate it. I put the zip online here if you'd like to take a look at it. http://www.captainoccam.com/ferahgo/inkbunnyart.zip

Yeah, that's definitely the problem - it contained two folders, and one was a resource folder. Here, try saving and uploading this one.

Urgh. *headdesk* It didn't work again, but this time it told me why - I accidentally included the high-res version of one of the pictures (autumn_mating.jpg) instead of the normal version, which exceeded the file size limitations. It should work other than that, though. Terribly sorry for the inconvenience, I feel like an idiot now.

If you don't mind me asking, is there any way to get rid of this zip/directory issue when compressing things using Mac OSX?

Yeah, I went back to look after and saw that file and matingfinal.png were pretty big (probably because it was an PNG . . . you pay for the 100% fidelity).

I took those two out and made a 15Mb one instead.

If you know how to use the command line zip program, that will create it without the resource fork. Alternatively, this command will also strip the resource fork directory from any zip files you make through the OSX user interface:
zip -d path/to/archive.zip __MACOSX/

You could also try the Create Clean Archive automator action.

Even then you'd need to make sure you zipped the files in the directory and not the directory with the files in.

We're working on making this less evil all around on our side, too. :-)

Ironically we do now have a transfer script, but at least bulk upload got you the full file size that you wanted here.
