Noblesse oblige is a French phrase literally meaning "nobility obliges".

The Dictionnaire de l’Académie française defines it thus:

Whoever claims to be noble must conduct himself nobly.
(Figuratively) One must act in a fashion that conforms to one's position, and with the reputation that one has earned.

The Oxford English Dictionary says that the term "suggests noble ancestry constrains to honorable behavior; privilege entails to responsibility." Being a noble meant that one had responsibilities to lead, manage and so on. One was not to simply spend one's time in idle pursuits.

Look someone in the eyes and tell them not to give up.

Over and over.

still I dug one thousand holes but I still know the words to this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage...

" When you're rife with devastation
There's a simple explanation:
You're a toymaker's creation
Trapped inside a crystal ball

And whichever way he tilts it
Know that we must be resilient
We won't let them break our spirits
As we sing our silly song

When I was a little filly, a galloping blaze overtook my city
So they shipped me off to the orphanage. Said, "ditch those roots if you wanna fit in"
So I dug one thousand holes and cut a rug with orphan foals now
Memories are blurred, and their faces are obscured, but I still, know the words to this song

When you've bungled all your bangles
And your loved ones have been mangled
Listen to the jingle jangle
Of my gypsy tambourine

'Cause these chords are hypnotizing
And the whole world's harmonizing
So please children stop your crying
And just sing along with me.

I like Eden of the East's OP but it's because the song hinged my life at that time.

Music can have a big effect.
When I am down songs like "Don't worry be happy" can lift me up.

And other songs (like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5-KKFJ-wCI ) always get me teary eyed, both from nostalgia and because they are so beautiful.

I might have to check out Eden of the East.  It's on Netflix, and at least the intro is interesting.  Kinda weird to hear a English song like that for an intro to an anime that actually fits.  I never cared for the American Digimon or Cardcaptor theme songs, for example, but Eden of the East and Falling Down by Oasis fit very well.

OK.  And I'll give the Pokémon theme a pass for being awesome.  It's one of the few animes I can think of where I like the English theme song over the Japanese theme song.  For reference;  the Japanese Pokémon theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbrbpqs11gw the English theme(I'd be very surprised if you haven't heard this at some point).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuYeHPFR3f0
