Polar Bears will be alright.  Icecaps shrinking? Get a grizzly girlfriend and shit in the woods like a normal bear!

A fun story about how to reassure children that shit happens in nature, and animals can adapt.  It'll be alright.

Hibernation is always good. Two fuzzy cubs go to sleep in the same cave and discover when they wake up that they were different species. :3 A story about difference, acceptance, and being unique.

On that note, you could do a family of something adopting a baby of something else and finding out it's different, with the same idea.

A Binturong/Bearcat who has a scary face and everyone is afraid of but he's actually a nice guy. About not judging people by their looks.

A ferret who believes he never makes mistakes and always blames everyone else drives his friends away... he gets stuck in a tight spot and has nobody to blame but himself... but his friends come back to help him out and he learns to take responsibility for his own actions.

Stories that would help develope understanding real world values, like ones that would teach the children to understand how capitalism works buy stuffs like the value of a dollar, how their parents work to earn it, so luxuries don't just fall out of the sky, etc., but in a child freindly, fun learning kind of way.

Also, going off of SavageSavage, teach other, finer points of social learning, which I think would be great with the increasing polution and everything else leading to more and more autistic children and others that have social handicaps.

+1 for capitalism. :D

You could do something proverb style about two brothers who both want something. One works hard and ends up getting it, the other doesn't work hard and ends up not getting it. ^_^

Because you are 'EvilCapitalist'?

That sounds about like what I said, only I pretty much incorporated money into it...

Another idea, do stories that teach about other religions than what people often grow up with. When I was in elementary school we had to learn about Islam, Toaism, Doaism, etc., in my Middle (Midle? Google Chrome isn't saying either is wrong) and High school  Geography we watched videos reporting about Islam and Hinduism, and a year or two ago I was going trans-continental on Greyhound, I met two Muslims, one from New York, New York, and one from San Diego, California (or some other major city in California), I learned from Muslims that my (I believe they are) Christian teachers taught us wrong, Islam doesn't frown upon being shown the souls of your feet and take it as an insult! Also, they where talking about something I never heard before, at a baseball stadium during December, there was a 'Santa Claus' on the field, and the guy was booed and stoned, even though there was a large Christian audience at the stadium, and watching on TV. They didn't like that this not only happened in the first place, but that it was done while THOUSANDS of young children world wide watched!

Just speaking about religious intolerance and misinterpretations.

'buy stuffs like how money works' should be 'by stuffs...' I used the wrong word here. =P

a story about how we got to share, we got to care,  with conflict because of opposite wishes and how in the end to conciliate differences and friendship. Like one want the tree to make a house inside, the others want to cut it to use wood for a dam.

ho and don't forget: in EVERY CENTURY from the START of Humanity,  ALL old peoples lamented children were more stupid, careless, uncaring. It's part of being old and young. So a story for kids should treat them as equal, smart and with love.

They need teachings and uplifting stories about the world because they are born only a few years ago, not because they would be worse than us.

I could give so many quotes on treating unequals as equals, I could (okay, honestly, this next part is exaggerating) write a book with them!

You took me too much literally.

I'm confused, what exactly where you meaning then? (Not good at determining how 'literal' a person's words are meant to be taken in the instances they use them. I got scolded quite a lot because I haven't learned this and no one gives a damn to teach what was wrong with it so I can learn from those mistakes. Among many other things people don't care to correct me on.)

A squirrel, a bunny, and a brother and sister raccoon, are introduced in school to their newest classmate, a shy girl turtle, and have to overcome their fears and prejudice (mild, as they are kids) and learn the importance of tolerance and understanding those that might be different.

Why not try fusing the style of Disney's Bambi with some 80's or 90's manga or anime style or, if you're not against it, Studio Ghibli? Small cute forest animals in Yellowstone park, rolling around and being bubbly, exploring some grand curiosity that's befallen their small world, like a submarine in a lake or something that really grabs their attention but is also a curiosity to humans.
What do you think?

There once was a Fox and a Farmer. The Fox always chased the Farmer's chickens, but never caught them. If he did the Farmer would be really angry. The Farmer always chased the Fox but never caught him. The Fox was far to fast and smart for that. The Fox played this game for many years until the Farmer hurt her ankle in the barnhouse. The Farmer lived alone wanted to call for help but there was no one around to hear her cries. The Fox wandered in looking for a chicken to chase only to find the Farmer on the floor in pain. The Fox helped the Farmer into her bed despite the Farmer's angry shouts. The Fox tended to the Farm and cared for the Farmer and her animals while she was injured. Over the next few weeks they grew fond of each other and the Farmer let the fox stay on the farm to stay with her and help her care for the animals. In return the Fox never had to worry about hunger or shelter again. And the Fox always had a Chicken to chase.

The farmer is a Sheep Dog or a Hound.
