For some reason I REALLY wanted to show off this game when I was on my way home, so this is less of a let's play and more of a spotlight, really. This is one of my favorite NES games, although I've never actually managed to beat it, and I actually do perform rather poorly in this vid. This is one of those unforgiving games that chews you up, spits you out, grinds your corpse into the ground, and somehow does it in a way that keeps you coming back for more. Still... it's fun to try to imagine what the enemies might look like... and what they'll do to me when they find my ship floating in space out of fuel. >.>
Oh, I make comments about how loud the sound is, but while editing I spotted the option to turn down the game's volume and not commentary. Your ears will thank me for that.
Sorry, but this looks like a horrible attempt to make an Elite clone. I highly recommend you to play Elite if you've never played it before. What's more interesting is that Elite actually has been ported on NES.

I have to agree. There's a certain something there that's alluring. Creepiness aside, it makes me have thoughts and want to do things. I'd rather not get any more specific than that, since I think I'm starting to skirt the line between complimentary and creepy.

Yeah most games on the NES are platformers, so it's nice to find some that break from that and do something different. The original Final Fantasy is another favorite. One of the best in the series, I think.
