Just something silly....

by
The other day, I was passing by the local florist's, and noticed all the electrical wires attached to the various plants.....

...Surely you've heard of "flower power"? :)

(Just something silly, to let everyone know I'm still here, just been busy... :P Waiting for a pizza, at the mo...)

Actually, considering recent studies have found that flowers can attract pollinators by generating very low level electrical fields like miniature lightning rods, this isn't that terribly farfetched.  It seems bees, at least, use the electrical fields in combination with the colors and odors to learn where the flowers are faster.  It's also possible variations in a flower's electrical field helps guide the bees to where the nectar is, and since a bee also generates an electrical field, it's been found that a flower's electrical field gets a surge when a bee lands on it that doesn't fade until after the bee buzzes on.

They must be little power plants.

In short, they get a charge out of it.
