It's working now. At least for me.

What web browser are you using? I had a similar problem with another site not working for me on Chrome, but worked perfectly fine on Explorer.

Chrome. :/

Smh. Will fiddle with it later.

DNS issues don't affect everyone the same way. It means that your internet connection is unable to find the server, and others on different connections may not have this problem at all.

Give it about 24 hours. They might have made some changes and DNS issues usually resolve within 24 hours.

If it still doesn't work for anyone (and you are on a PC) try the following two things in that order:
1. Empty browser cache (for chrome: settings --> advanced settings --> clear browsing data --> tick the cache checkbox and click clear)
2. Close your browser and just type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without qoutes) in the search-bar (windows 7) or "run"-window (Windows-key + R) and hit enter.

Then try again, else it is a problem at your DNS server, which should as said before be fixed within 24 hours and can explain why it is "locally"

(Also, works fine for me)

Though actually, I didn't try any of those things; came back a few hours later and lo and behold, it works.

I've seen that message on e621 a couple times in the past 3 months alone. Always sorts itself out in a few hours. :)
