My weird fear....

I think this is an interesting fact you'd like to hear. I have this awkward fear of talking to cashiers or telling them to do anything or buying anything. I usually just nod and get the hell outta there. Idunno what it is that makes me afraid of cashiers at stores. Do you guys have any weird fears at all leave a comment below if you do.

I do something like that. I don't like people in general as far as real life goes. I don't like strangers and i only rarely talk to the people I know in real life.  I guess iv allways been a bit of an antisocial kinda person lol. Now online ill talk to anyone anytime about anything. Weird huh?

Heh, that's cute.

Little fears like that I cannot say I have, I know I have a pretty bad phobia when it comes to heights. Also a little claustrophobic, but not as bad as I use to be. I don't get panic attacks anymore, but still feel uncomfortable in closed spaces. I absolutely had being crowded by people for this reason.

I actually have the opposite phobia of claustrophobic. I have a fear of big dark rooms. Just the darkness and the eerie echo make me shutter.

I hate calling people on the phone.  I always feel like I'm gonna trip over my words and make a fool of myself, so I get a pang of panic whenever I know that I'm going to have to call someone I've never called before.

I'm sorta like that, too.  Although the fear comes in more or less when I have to leave a message.  I suck at leaving them despite the simplicity of it LOL

*Makes spooky noises* I am the dread cashier! In all seriousness though, I've never had somebody come through my line who seemed to be scared. Well, they haven't stayed that way long enough to get to me, cause I always promise to be gentle.... That wasn't supposed to be that kind of comment.

I caught a segment of the Maury Show several years ago on irrational fears. I can understand people being afraid of balloons (BushyCat is very afraid of them because she's afraid of the very loud bang when they pop), but one guy freaked right out when he saw a video of..... peaches. Peaches?! Why would someone be afraid of peaches?

As for my, for as long as I can remember, I have been afraid of creepy looking shower heads. Regular ones that are pretty small don't bother me, but I cannot stand to be in a shower with a shower head with large 'eye holes', like the old Pollinex shower heads, or too exotic looking like the Shower Massage shower heads. I think this stems from something I saw on Charlie's Angels, when I was 3 or 4 years old. One was getting ready to take a shower, and someone rigged it to be a flame thrower instead!

I dislike buying porn or condoms when there's nothing but female cashiers around I know that much. And I have a fear of heights a bit... potentially falling from them mostly.

Cashiers only make me nervous when I'm buying something naughty or very very weird.  Otherwise I stare at them with the most contempt I can muster, and hope with all my soul that they don't screw up my food order, try to charge me for plastic bags, or ask me to sign up for some retarded store rewards or credit program.

What DOES scare me (aside from spiders, insects, and most everything in the sea) is making cold-calls, and as a salesman, that's bad.  I can't do it...  I just can't call someone out of the blue, someone I don't know, and talk them into buying crap.  It goes against my personal beliefs, makes me feel like a hypocrite, and even though I know they will put me out of mind the second they hang up the phone, it unnerves me greatly to do such a thing.

Just don't forget that sometimes the cashier isn't the one at fault for asking you X Y and Z.  Usually they're required to do so (and failure to do so results in far more problems for them than for you to hear it).

LOL the joys of seeing both sides of the coin
>.<

Oh I know both sides of the coin, and I understand "upselling", but there are limits to my tolerance.  Charging for plastic bags, or asking me to sign away my name for a source of continual debt or unwelcome solicitations are both unforgivable.  And fucking up my order is cause for an ass-beating.

I know that all too well.  And unfortunately several employees get the brunt of the customers anger over company policy - one that would get them fired if they didn't obey >.<

But yeah... Charging for bags?  That's outright bullshit.  Getting an order wrong?  That's error on the employee level.  I fully agree with you there.  ..Especially after the amount of times McDona'ds or other fast food places have gotten our meals wrong....  Lucky for me that hasn't happened in recent times.

And just so you know, from a cashier's POV, we don't really care what you buy, so you shouldn't have a phobia of us if we try to talk to you. X3 If we seem friendly and talkative, it's just our job. We're required by policy to act nice and try to make sure we give good "customer service". Trust me, i hate being a cashier, but just saying from a guy who's been there and done that. XD

I don't know what it is. It's not just cashiers, there's waiters, or those people that walk around stores trying to help you. I'm just not hood at asking strangers for help or anyone for that matter. I just get nervous around anyone that I have to tell what to do.

I'm afraid to sit next to people on the bus. idk why. I'm also afraid of calling people for some reason. It's hard for me to make appointments and stuff because of that fear. I used to be afraid of cashiers but that seemed to lesson as I got older.

I'm a cashier! *Waves arms* I'm gonna get ya! :D

Nah but for realz. I have a phobia of calling people on the phone. I think I just dislike the phone in general. My biggest fear is calling the wrong number...

Actually.. I fear it even more since I'm so used to using a num pad on a keyboard and the numbers on a phone are switched... So sometimes I notice I'm dialing backwards and freak out and have to watch myself more carefully.
