TMI Tuseday: Ilene Lepti, the resident leptictidium

by
First off, yes, I'm behind, as usual, in getting to replies- Been a little nuts here. :P That said, replies to this might also get delayed as I catch up.

Secondly, I'm posting two separate TMI Tuseday journals, today- The first is for Ilene, my leptictidium character. :) This'll help me flesh out the character more, and being TMI Tuesday, that means...the usual TMI and non-TMI stuff.

The other is for my only fan-based character, my anthropomorphised Mimzy bunny. ;)

By now, you should know, or have an idea what a TMI Tuesday is, which is a popular meme both here on IB and on FA-- Ask anything about it to my character, especially the more "TMI" stuff, as in "too much info"... ;)

Previous ones have focused on Amy, my main mousie character, which you can still go back to, if you want. (And no, I'm not limiting any questions & answers to just on Tuesdays, so ask away!)

1)If I ran up and painted Ilene some color of the rainbow, what color should I be painting?

2) At this point, should I wear protection because Ilene would be trying to break my nose? :o

3) What sort of crafts does Ilene do?  Woodworking?  Yarn crafts like latchhook, crochet, or needlepoint on plastic canvas?  Papercraft?

4) How was her brother?

5) Was Ilene's society matriarchal, patriarchal, or simply whoever-was-in-charge-ical?

6) If nothing had happened all those many millions of years ago, how would Ilene have snagged a mate/husband?  A Sadie Hawkins chase through the forest?  A slow and careful courtship conducted along strict and rigid traditional lines?  She just spreads her legs and lets all comers have their way until one of them summons the stork?  She goes to market and chooses a ham that looks good?

7) If, in some strange alternate universe where they lived beyond the CO2 blast and decided to give a brother-sister fling another try, Ilene had borne a child to her brother, what would the repercussions have been?

8) What was the astrological sign Ilene was born under?

9) What's Ilene's most favorite food?

10) Do sporks baffle her?

Plaid? O.o Always an odd question... :P

" 2) At this point, should I wear protection because Ilene would be trying to break my nose? :o

Possibly... Or a good tailwhack... o.O

" 3) What sort of crafts does Ilene do?  Woodworking?  Yarn crafts like latchhook, crochet, or needlepoint on plastic canvas?  Papercraft?

She plays guitar, largely blaming Amy for it... ;) Amy introduced Ilene to the music of Led Zeppelin & The Beatles. She tends to follow Jimi Hendrix's style, though.

" 4) How was her brother?

"Gentle and brotherly." ;)

" 5) Was Ilene's society matriarchal, patriarchal, or simply whoever-was-in-charge-ical?

Basically the latter, though it usually was a male in charge of community affairs (like a mayor), while the religious leader was always a priestess. Regardless, both genders, irrespective of age, were listened to and respected over many aspects of life. The "it takes a village" philosophy was always true throughout lepti history.

Happenstance. Mates were never chosen, except for the Right of Passage, and that was the Priestess's responsibility, when it came to others choosing mates for someone. Usually, it was the one that one most feels comfortable being around with the most.

" 7) If, in some strange alternate universe where they lived beyond the CO2 blast and decided to give a brother-sister fling another try, Ilene had borne a child to her brother, what would the repercussions have been?

Not much. Sibling pairings weren't that uncommon. (This was the case for the village leader and priestess at that time, actually...)

" 8) What was the astrological sign Ilene was born under?

The modern equivalent would be Libra (same as Amy and mine), but as the constellations we know didn't exist then (stellar movement and all), and that they only considered what moon they were born in (Harvest Moon, then as now), there was no zodiacal equivalent in the lepti society at that time. (This, in part, because they had a cosmocentric view of their place in the world, rather than the geocentric/heliocentric view usually found in most primitive cultures...)

" 9) What's Ilene's most favorite food?

Pizza. With LOTS of toppings!

" 10) Do sporks baffle her?

Not any more than chopsticks...and she's pretty good with those.... :)

" Plaid? O.o Always an odd question... :P

11) Like the McDuck tartan?  (Orange squares bordered by green stripes and with a green square in the center, a black stripe through the middle of the green stripes, and thin black stripes quartering the orange and green squares.)

" Possibly... Or a good tailwhack... o.O

Hunh.  Well, it would be no different from having to dig my nose out from behind the fridge because I dared ask her out.  That is to say, bloody painful and the result of something I'd don't do.

" She plays guitar, largely blaming Amy for it... ;) Amy introduced Ilene to the music of Led Zeppelin & The Beatles. She tends to follow Jimi Hendrix's style, though.

Makes sense.  I suppose there'd be resistance to pau-nahkwas in modern society anyway. :p

" "Gentle and brotherly." ;)

12) Was he her only sibling?  (I seem to recall a sister who met a gruesome fate. :( )

" Basically the latter, though it usually was a male in charge of community affairs (like a mayor), while the religious leader was always a priestess.

13) I know that some older societies in real life before the spread of Christianity had various rituals (most notably fertility rites) that featured a high public official having sex with a high priestess in public.  Some religions even considered priestesses providing sex for donations to be a holy duty.  Did leptis have anything similar?

14) Hebrew priests didn't like the idea of women wielding such power over men, hence one reason for the Judaeochristian-islamic religions' misogynistic control over women.  Were there any leptis with such attitudes?

" Not much. Sibling pairings weren't that uncommon. (This was the case for the village leader and priestess at that time, actually...)
I'm oddly enough reminded of the pharaohs of Egypt, although I doubt the leptis thought of their leaders as god-kings/queens.

" The modern equivalent would be Libra (same as Amy and mine), but as the constellations we know didn't exist then (stellar movement and all), and that they only considered what moon they were born in (Harvest Moon, then as now), there was no zodiacal equivalent in the lepti society at that time. I guess they didn't have debates about how far down the turtles went. :p

I did expect the constellations to be radically different, although I suppose it would be extremely difficult if not nigh impossible to reconstruct any meaningful star maps of 50 million BC.

" Pizza. With LOTS of toppings!

15) Including earthworms? ;p

16) Was Ilene aware of any other sentient (non-leptictidium) furries.

17) What sort of gods or important spirits did the ancient leptis have?

18) Were any of these gods/spirits/entities suspiciously alien in some way (even if they really weren't), whether by being actual extraterrestials or native Earth species that would make logical sense if they appeared in a different era (like a modern elephant or an ancient triceratops)?

19) What name did the leptis call themselves?

20) Would the ancient leptis have been open to having sex outside their own species (as Ilene appears to be)?

21) If given the chance to become a modern Eve (or rather a modern Lífþrasir) for her people, would she take it?

22) How would Amy take it if she were to be a modern Adam/Líf for Ilene? :p
