January can go bite my ass (and a deal for TFF attendees)...

by
January is getting on my nerves big time. The roommate just got back from the mechanic to find out why the power steering pump on his car went out for the 2nd time since it was replaced. He was told that the front rack and pinion for the car needs to be replaced within the next 30-60 days or we will be out of a car. Here is a copy of the repair quote in case anyone wants to claim that I am lying (sensitive info has been blacked out). It is going to cost around $600.00 to get that replaced and to get a replacement power steering pump.

Now here is the deal for everyone, especially for those attending Texas Furry Fiesta. I am taking commissions for floral arrangements like these:

https://www.furaffinity.net/view/6460193/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/6460202/

As I will be attending TFF, I will hand deliver them to those who purchase one. OR... you can purchase one and donate it to an assisted living facility which will be done in your name.

The arrangements start at $65 each (based on size of glass vase, number of flowers *minimum of 20 *) and ALL funds will go towards getting the new replacement parts.

I would need to sell 13 and no less than 11 of the floral arrangements in order to make the cost of the repairs (have to take into account of materials).

On that note, I am actively looking for a car for myself and below are the models that I am looking at:

Well, I'm not so well learned in auto parts pricing (know enough about auto mechanics to take care of myself, but not about parts prices), but I get the feeling that if you where to get my uncle to do it, he may be able to do all that for half the price, or less. But you would have to go to Sherrell Chevrolet in Hermiston, Oregon.

I found many auto mechanics to rip people off on all things, buy crappy parts with little life left and charge price of a brand new one from a better brand, ripping off old ladies selling them a vehicle that isn't safe to start (true story), taking longer to do the work than necessary and charging for the extra hours, etc. I would HIGHLY recommend you shop around a bit before going with just one quote.

I understand, however, I do need the car to get to/from work which is a 60 mile round trip 5 days a week

I know, but you don't have the money to just throw about, do you? Even if you did, it still isn't right to treat people like that.

True, that is why I am looking for a car of my own, as I am going to need one when I move into my own place in a few months. I can't keep relying on my roommate's car all of the time. What I have offered up in the journal is valid for those attending Texas Furry Fiesta as I can readily deliver the finished product personally to them, or to an assisted living facility to help brighten up the place.
