crashed my motorcycle today... yay.

by
So here's what happened. I was driving home from the furcon meeting. On the way home i got into the left lane. Guadalupe parkway is an elevated road, about 10 to 15 stories off the ground. I got into the left lane, there was a large Doge Ram sort of truck in front of me and a semi carrying god only knows (it wasn't a box style semi). Just as I get beside the semi the truck was beside the front of it. Semi slammed on the brakes, truck slammed on the brakes. I had three options. A. slam the brakes and hit the truck. B. swerve and slam into the semi, possibly getting run over by it or C. swerve left and get thrown off the parkway. I got down to like 20 or so miles per hour, thank god for those brakes, before slamming into the back of the truck, getting some air with my bike, and smacking my right side and skull onto the road. Turns out a big puppy got onto the expressway and walked out in front of traffic. The puppy's ok, and if it didn't have tags I would've taken it home. The bike landed on my right ankle. helmet saved my skull, and one ambulance & hospital trip later my foot gets a sprain boot and I walk out. just some road rash and one hell of a twisted ankle. Now I just need to find out where my motorcycle got towed and how to get it home...

here's where things get worrisome. apparently Guadalupe Parkway is a freeway... even though it's called a parkway! if the cops dare to fine me for being on a freeway with a permit imma slap some sense into them and tell them to change the damn signs! it's even called state route 87 and highway 87! nowhere is it actually labeled a freeway!

I just feel horrible right now... I feel so useless at the moment...

There should be something in the state law about proper labeling of highways and such.  Might have to give a few bucks to a lawyer, if you do get nailed, but you should be able to beat the ticket.

Are you sure you're okay?  That's what matters most.  How bad is the bike?

physically i'll be just fine, but i've just been up and down emotionally... i'm going to go away for a while after FC, and i'm only doing FC because i said i'd do hospitality staff.
