Whitelisting period is over. I fixed the dreaded UTM box. The culprit: a StarTech USB Ethernet adapter was not fully linux compatible. I read a user review on Newegg saying it was. The port read a connection was there and the speed of the connection. But no DHCP/DNS/ping information would go through to the firewall from the server or to the server from the firewall. I mistakenly thought that the really loose onboard MSI connector was bad, but I was wrong. So My SFTP server now has intrusion prevention, spyware filtering, spam filtering, ad filtering, attack blocking, malware blocking, and an additional antivirus. Problem solved.
In other news... Does anyone need a USB Ethernet adapter for a Windows computer? x3
