I've been so distracted with other things, I completely forgot about them! :( Took a note about a certain birthday story to remind me, not only haven't I gotten back to that, I hadn't gotten back to my Sundial Bridge/Old Shasta ruins/Whiskeytown Lake photos from my birthday, either... :(
Now, do you see why I'm eager to get my Nikon converted to do infrared? These IR shots were all 10-second exposures set to a high ISO setting (1600), rather than "normal" exposure settings had it been converted... :P ....Now, if only someone would leave some "tips" in the "tip jar"... :(
They're quite rosy. You must have been a bit of an optimist. :p
Heh... That's just how it come through the filter... Of course, if you tried to look through the filter, you'd barely see anything, with a reddish colour... Something like 10% pass-through at the deepest optical red... (760nm is the wavelength at 50% passthrough... Percentage goes higher the longer the wavelength... That's how infrared passthrough filters work. A camera conversion removes the internal infrared blocking filter, as the sensor is sensitive down to about 1200nm and up to 300nm in the UV range. Red is about 700nm.) Ironically, a full-spectrum converted camera produces interesting results with deep-colour filters-- The infrared passthrough always shows up as the colour not used by the filter!
