In another life I must have had a job kicking babies

Because my day has been SHIT and it's not even half over. As I type this I am nearly blind. I have extremely poor vision and on the way to work today my glasses fell out of the coat pocket i swear i zipped up, landed on the pavement, Silently and went noticed until i got to work. I took off my hat and ace mask and lo and behold when i reached for my glasses, gone. I ware allot of clothing and stuff since i walk to work and in winter it's extremely cold and theirs always a very strong wind by my job. If i have the glasses on they fog up so bad im literally blind so i just take them off.

I back track to were i took them off and I did manage to find the glasses.

What was LEFT off them.

they were crushed completely flat, in a twisted hunk of metal that i barely recognized as mine. the lenses were dust, Actually dust. So it's pretty obvious they were run over by a car.

I say to myself, im a responsible adult, I can handle this. SO I call around and after a process of trial and air manage to find an optometrist that can do same day service and pencil myself in for a 6:40 appointment. There goes about 150-200 USD so im probably not gonna be posting any commissions for a while. Or eating for that matter. Im not completely fucked I do have a little safty net fund i keep around but this sucks im trying to BUILD that not deplete it.

stuff like this leds me to belive Karma is not real. XD I try to be a good person and i strive to be understanding and drama free both IRL and online, then this happens! I swear to god I will scorch the fucking earth! Umm.. *ahem* sorry about that XD venting. but yeah just cosmically not my day.

On the other hand my old glasses were just that, OLD, extremely, several years in fact. I desperately needed new glasses ANYWAY and im such a procrastinator about doing things like this unless i have no choice that this could very well be Providence, and not simple bad karma.

Anyway so theres the update, IM not even sure why im writeing this, It has nothing to do with inkbunny, art or my online life XD but i guess I just really wanted to talk about it. DX  hopefully sometime tonight I will have brand new glasses.

I think something is in the air...  Expensive crap has happened to me too...

Got Christmas out the way and was pretty proud of only spending around £100 more this month than normal...  Easily recoverable again over the next couple of months I thought...

Well...  Between Christmas and new year I got a lovely letter form my electric company saying my account was £300 in debt and they wanted intimidate payment within 10 days or they were increasing my payments from £87 to £209 a month...  Ouch.  So I paid that off and...  Another £300 lighter in my account.

To top it all off, my HD tv, which has been fine for 6 years, decides on New Years Eve to suddenly "explode" into pretty but worrying rainbow flashy lines all over the screen.  I turn it off and back on again, hoping it will go away aaaaand...  Blackness.  No picture, just sound.  So now I'm gonna have to find funds to buy a new tv as well.

What a crappy Christams!  lol!

Just be thankful that your glasses aren't like mine.  Mine cost about $650, so if they break, I really am in trouble. I couldn't even see well enough to navigate home without mine, so they'd never be in my pocket.  If they fog up, I actually can't see, but taking them off is worse.  My glasses can't be made in the same day places.  It's normally a two to three week wait after getting a prescription.  Needless to say, I keep every pair of old glasses I've ever had, or the pieces of them, so if the current pair breaks, I can still come up with a way to see enough to walk to the grocery store as such. There was one week, about ten years ago, where I had to resort to holding a single lens in front of an eye so I could navigate, because I broke the pair I had and couldn't see well enough to search for an older pair.  Of course, I found the older pair AFTER I got new ones. My vision is only around 20/300 in my best eye, with glasses. My other eye is less than half that.  If I don't have my glasses on, I can't even see a car parked across the street from me.

Hopefully, your new ones will be better than what you were used to.

these cost me just shy of 500 and IF my inserence pays for them and theres a chance they wont, it will be reduced to about 250 or so.

I sure hope your insurance works then.  Glasses and other medical needs shouldn't have to cost so much.  One of my heart meds is over $300 a month, which is thankfully paid for by insurance, well except for $4 of it each time.  I'd be dead without it.  They generally cover about half of my glassed, but I still have to come up with $300, when the need comes.

If your insurance don't pay, you can probably appeal their decision, or see if there is a vision center for people with low income in your area. They will often hook you up with a place like the Lions Club, who helps people in need to get glasses and such. I think they help people with glasses all over the US, and possibly Canada, with a priority towards making sure children have proper glasses. They definitely help adults too, as they've helped me a few times. It's just something to look into if your insurance fails to provide.

if my glasses would get broke I only have a pair of spair-sunglasses. Not very helpfull when it gets dark. Yes, my sunglasses are for my eyesight. Let them made several years ago when I still had parents.

*hugs gently* from now on only good things will happen, and who knows, maybe that was the world's way of forcing you to get new glasses ^^;

This kind of stuff has been happening to me nearly constantly the last 2 years, I even strain myself to over-prepare for anything then the fucking impossible happens to take that out. It never fucking ends.

Though yes I do believe a lot of this stuff is designed to happen, businesses depend on people to keep buying their shit so they have reason to cause people problems.
I'd bet there's some political punishment being had on the voters too..
(certain special interests failed to regain full control of gov, so ruin peoples/employees lives instead out of spite)

Well if they are very old, then the new glasses will be much likey much better und also more comfortable to wear.

I got myself titanium ones, since mine tend to break in the middle (I have bad polishing habbits und from time to time I sit down on them XD) and it has been holding together very since (I sat on them 3 times so far. All I needed was bend it back into shape ^^)

In the future, consider an extra pair of glasses or keeping a somewhat steady supply of contact lenses.  The second option once kept me from having to buy a new pair until my insurance would pay for them.  XD
