So take your time, I too would rather it be delayed longer and worked on more thorough, then the game be rushed for release and still full of bugs (on an off note an example would be the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim xD), keep it up Avian and Merry Christmas also. :3

As I've said to Av, personally I don't care HOW LONG it takes. I love this game, and each update is like an exciting alternative reality to the past incarnations.
Take your time, make it good, and don't stress over it. Anyone who throws a shit-fit over this isn't really worth the invested energy anyway.

The holidays are stress paramount, making art equally so, and commbining art with flash coding is complex over being stressful.
All of us are just going to need to wait while humming a calm tune, hope for the best they can offer, and be glad for what we get!

Dont forget to duplicate all the files accross two machines, especially given Gabe announced the othre day that they lost this entire last years work due to the PC, hard drive failing, having to send it off to data recovery.

Given the cost of 64 gig USB keys and 30 Gig SSDs, really should buy one of those instead of the next Call Of Duty etc, especially given so many people prefer your game? 8)

I've nothing against waiting but I don't understand giving a release date if you weren't done. I wouldn't have chosen christmas unless I was done beforehand because of how hectic holidays are BUT I can't wait for the game good luck with the work.

I find it rude when someone says something and then doesn't do it. If your friend says, "Hey Ill bring the box over tomorrow or the day after tomorrow" and then doesn't appear or say, "Running late! Sorry!", it's still rude. It's not an obligation or anything but when someone says something (even something extra or non-obligational) and then doesn't even make a peep three days later, we are allowed to be a little peeved.

I went through FOUR stages of emotion/action, Sadness that the release wasn't when it was said to be, Anger for the same reason, I then ate some Subway, and lastly Played some Halo, anger and sadness are gone, and a clear thinking fan has returned! Keep being amazing avian!!!

No offense to his family, but they might be really intrusive,
and he lucked out getting the last post.
I know my family was that way, I would be doing something
and they HAD to see what it was.
They might be from out of state and having him running around town.
Maybe there is a good explanation he will part with, besides..

I can't believe people are still defending the fact that he can't take a minute of his ever so precious time and just tell us what's going on. Don't blame it on the family, who's probably long gone btw. Even when the President is visiting you, you'll find a minute to write a few simple sentences, in the worst case from your phone when you're on the toilet. Actually, it was Aval0n that make the deadline, not Avian. Aval0n said that he would be completed with the work that he had to do on the game, and he delivered. Avian never set any deadline. With all the coding, testing and QA he's doing, I can understand why it could take a while to compile.
Admittidly, I would also greatly apreciate some sort of update, but I'm not going to start calling Avian names or make judgements on his character.

And no one expects the game to be ready in one or two days, even if he had left out the "perhaps". What people do expect and this is really not much, is an update about what's going on because after an announcement like that, people are eagerly waiting for the game. So why make an announcement about PERHAPS one or two days when even on the fourth day the fans are treated with silence?

I have always supported Avion and Avalon with this project and never pushed, I do have to say though an update would be very much appreciated, sense it was told that night or the next, that way we know what's going on, I know programming can be a pain, fix one thing and something else goes wrong and such, and I hope nothing serious happened with you hun, good luck getting through the holidays and I look forward to the release whenever that may be :-) =^..^=

I don't know why everyone is getting into such a huff about this. I've been a fan of BSC for a few years now and honestly this situation is par for the course. This game isn't their lives. This is something that a couple of guys do for fun. So everyone should just stop being a bunch of ungrateful babies and have some patients.

Yes an update would be nice, yes the game would be nice. Blah blah blah. Go read a book, play a video game, talk with a friend. Whatever, just don't take your anger and frustration out on people who are doing something nice for you.

I've never had any issue with Avalon taking his sweet time with updates... I check the site every month or so to see if there's anything new and shrug and try again in another month if there isn't. I think the reason that so many people are annoyed this time has more to do with the promise of an update combined with a total lack of communication after the update didn't pan out. Both of them are doing us all a service, that is a definite. However, a good analogy would be if I told my grandmother that I was going to take her to the doctor's tomorrow. Now... if I don't bother showing up to take her, the argument of "Well, I was a volunteer and there was nothing in it for me to take her, so instead of being upset, she should be THANKING me!" doesn't hold a lot of water. Why? Because I SAID I would be there and then failed to do as I said I was going to do. Then to make it worse... I spend the next four day dodging her phone calls so I don't have to own up to not following through with my commitments. I
I hope they take their time and get it done right, and I CERTAINLY hope everything is okay with both of them. But barring an arrest, a home invasion robbery turned hostage situation, a death in the family, or possibly some kind of closed head trauma... there really isn't a good excuse for the lack of communication here. One or both of them could have saved themselves a lot of ill will with just a little transparency.

As is comparing calling, which interrupts our lives, to comments on a website that we don't even have to read or know are there. Frankly, you have to wait a few days to stroke your dick. So what? They aren't getting paid, and he didn't make an absolute promises. THE POINT IS... when you say "I'm going to do something on such and such day", you have committed to something... and when you fail to follow through on the commitment, you are likely to get called on it. That's life... it doesn't matter whether it something super serious, or something as menial as taking out the garbage... people just generally get annoyed at those that don't do what they say they are going to do.

Here is how I look at it. Aval0nX and Avian don't work for you. You don't pay them a salary, they aren't obliged to you, you aren't entitled to jack.

If I were Avian and I had the choice between spending time with family or working without compensation for a bunch of whining asshats, I'd spend time with family.

Personally, I think it was a mistake for Aval0nX to announce a release date before he had product in hand but that's a separate issue.

Avian, enjoy your holiday, get the file out when you can, and thank you for your efforts.

Long time fan, first time commenter, and... well, like it or not, you have fans. You've amassed them like some great sponge. With that popularity DOES come some obligation - to deliver, or communicate at very least. You're kinda being a dick by suggesting you can deliver something all your fans really want to see, and then fucking off for four whole days without an explanation. A quick heads-up, I think, is not exactly impossible or terribly time-consuming. It'd take like a minute, and since you've done this shit before, you cannot be surprised in any way that any of your long- or short-term fans are getting agitated.
