I have a close friend I'm working with concerning the items, armor, weaponry, and background stuff. However we're still completely unsure of a plot. Now in the previous journal there were a few good suggestions. There were also some questions about wither I'd use the plots from the "Haunted Mansion Fun" or "Snowed In" games. There were also concerns about how characters from the School Days canon would even fit in an RPG situations considering that they don't have any skills that would fit in a traditional RPG. Well those are all valid questions and I plan on addressing those.
Here is what I have in mind overall for an RPG based in the School Days canon. For everyone who has noticed, yes, a good chunk of the inspiration for this game comes from the SNES game "Earthbound." As I said in an earlier post on another forum, I absolutely love the School Days universe for it's cuteness, silliness, and it's ability to get away with anything. The same thing goes with Earthbound, and I just feel the two universes just go together like Peanut Butter and Chocolate. Originally I was just using the School Days characters as placeholders to help build an original RPG but it seems people are really on board with the idea.
I was thinking of using the plots form "Haunted Mansion Fun" and "Snowed In" but because of their size they would more feel like small plots or side quests to an overall larger adventure. I don't want to make the plot line too big though. If anything the game itself should take place within the city limits of Pouncefield and have lots of little places to explore like the school, a beach, arcade, mall, nature trail, mountain trails, all of which could contain adventures and enemies that can advance the overall plot.
Edna is going to be the main characters and be joined eventually by Pokeinfo, Edward, and Cynthia in that order. There may be some more characters along the way but they would most likely just be guest stars to just serve the purpose of the plot. The major concern for the plot right now is just trying to figure out what the overall goal and story for the game should be such as determining the "Big Bad" and what the hero's need to collect in order to save the town.
I don't really mind cliche ideas that much, just as long as they're not super cliche or ripped from another game entirely. Keep in mind that the original Earthbound was an affectionate parody of games like "Dragon Quest". Anyway I'm open to any ideas that you may have on the plot subject and I'm willing to answer any other questions you may have as well. Hope to hear from you soon. ^v^
