Oooh, two journals in a day! I'm getting dangerous again! ;)
OK, I've already decided on species for the St. Patrick's Day and Easter/Spring Equinox Writing Challenge entries (respectively, Fox and Bilby, so you guys now have fair warning in advance of the actual challenge keywords, which I'll post when the time comes... Why Bilby? You'll have to find out.....later. ;) ), but I felt there was too long of a break between #3 (Valentine's Day) and the Challenge for St. Patrick's Day, so.... How 'bout one for Mardi Gras (or, if you're in other parts of the world, Carnival)?
Well, nothing says Louisiana like swamps and alligators, so...
The species (and keyword #1) is.....
OTTER!
Nothing says an implacable show-off like an otter, and what's a Mardi Gras (or Carnival) without show-offs, yes? ;)
Since the theme is Mardi Gras, it's not important to make it a keyword, so what'll be the rest?
Well... To list 'em out, here they are:
OTTER BEADS JAZZ
So, let's get the party started and have some fun! :) As usual, can be clean or REALLY naughty, as long as it's imaginative-- I'm never expecting the obvious, so surprise me! Just remember, have some fun with this! :) Note that these are keywords, and not a phrase, like some other prompts & challenges, and can be thematic, if one chooses. These may be short enough to fit on a flea's back or long enough to dwarf the Lord of the Rings trilogy... :)
Oh, and if you're new to the Writing Challenge, or haven't been keeping up, the previous three Challenges are still open-- There is no deadline on any of these, but I would like a heads-up to know if there's interest. You don't need to go into any details as to what you're writing, except maybe letting me know which Challenge(s) you're working on, if it'll be taking a while. The more I know there's interest, the more likely I can continue this project.
Below is a list of past and current Challenges, with links to all submissions for each.
Well, the St. Patty's Day entry shouldn't be too hard to write in, but the one for Spring Break- between St. Patrick's Day and Easter- might not fit...but then, we'll see... ;)

I think I can squeeze in the St. Paddy's Day entry without any problems. I can't tell you about Spring Break until you post it, of course. :p
I've got Part 3 almost ready to go. It just needs a quick look through before I post it. Interestingly enough, it wasn't "Jazz" that gave me problems, but "Beads". I had to go back and insert something about beads which turned out to be fortunate as it helped give some character to Father Evan.

I figured the St. Paddy's Day challenge wouldn't be a problem for you at all. As for the Spring Break one, well... I've already written one story that could fit into it- You'll know by the end of this month. ;)
As for Part 3, hee! Interesting that "beads" would be the unexpected challenge! ;)

Fortunately, real life priests do have a use for beads which I could easily exploit and turn into some extra interaction between Baksrit and Father Evan. :p Until I figured that bit out, I feared I'd have to write up Part 4 and use that for this Challenge instead with poor Part 3 dangling in between.
It should be interesting to see what those keywords will inspire, although, for the time being, my focus should be on the St. Patrick's Day Challenge.
