This is a short one, but I've been thinking about it for a while now... Particularly since I began my Sonic Readthrough. I think it's time to go ahead and go through with this.
Up until now, my stories have taken place just after issue 100, where I stopped reading the comics. I wasn't interested in events that occurred after because I (wrongly) didn't care about them and disagreed with them. I have come to realize the error of my ways after reading the last 142 issues (plus several of Sonic Universe.
I want to update the SS250verse to reflect the current universe. I want to bring all the amazing stories and events I've read into my stories. I want to bring in New Mobotropolis, the battles against Eggman, the Iron Dominion, and so much more.
I agonized about how to handle this... Should I write a reboot? Should I pull some sort of DCnU or Genesis style reordering of my universe? Should I even bother? Why not just end my universe and start anew?
, my wonderful friend, who gave me the answer. Since my stuff ENDS at issue 100.... Just say that all the events of my universe occurred just after then... then all the events of the comic continued. Occam's Razor. ...Man, I've been thinking too hard on this.
SO... Starting at some point in the very near future, I will be debuting the Neo SS250verse. All the stories I've written so far are still canon, but so are the events from issues 101-222. For reference, this is JUST before Naugus became King and Sally was Roboticized. There's only ONE divergence point in the plot of the comics and my universe...
In the new SS250verse, Sonic and Sally never broke up in issue 134. I'll explain more once I actually begin writing a story, but this is the BIG thing that's changed. Outside of that, everything has occurred just as it's happened.
"But SS250," you may ask, "why not just update to the current issue?"
...Because one of my main characters is currently a bucket of bolts, that's why. It's kinda hard to write romantic or sex stories when one of the characters doesn't have the anatomy to love or have sex... ^^;
What does this mean for you, the reader? Likely nothing at all. You probably won't notice a darned thing, or give a crap if you do. But this is for me, the author. It's important for me to bring in these elements and to be able to use some of the stories I've grown to love in my writings. Plus, this means MORE interesting scenarios I can use. I've got a story with Dr. Finitevus in progress for example, who didn't exist in issue 101...
Anyway, I just wanted to put this out there. I'm still working on the Sonic Readthrough, but have been very distracted. I'm also working on my new Sonic Cubverse stories. Sorry if you're interested in Digimon Defenders or Pokemon Battle Kingdom, but right now I'm trying to get back to my roots and I'm on a major kick. I'll get back to those stories eventually.

Relatively easy to have a relationship break up when it's two chaste teens talking about boy/girl friend, much harder for it to happen with the Average Sexuality Level of your 'verse... Sally: "I sometimes think Sonic doesn't care for me..." Nicole: "Like hell. I didn't know some of the stuff you two invented was possible, and statistical analysis shows that his primary objective is your happiness, even over his own." Sally: "Huh. So much for that worry, then."

Shade already exists in the SS250verse (although she's about as minor of a character as it gets)... As for Cosmo... Probably not. She's in Sonic X, and I don't know anything about her. Not to mention, Tails is with Cream and Amy. ^^:

Oh... Well, just a thought. Nothing shows true creativity like adding characters and merging them with your current knowledge and doing whatever the hell you want to do to them. That's what I do all the time. LOL =D
