Hostess and the Fate of the Twinkie (Dont Panic)

Im really getting blown away by the number of journals and topics all over the internet and even on the local news about hostess, The company that brings us twinkies, hoho's and a dozen other treats, are going out of business and that means all those treats are going to go poof!

First off, no, they wont. People will continue to make treats in that style maybe even, with the hostess property rights.

You see with the company out of business via bankruptcy there assets including the brand name, are up for sale. Any large corporation can swoop in now, buy the Brand, and you wont notice a damn thing. Except that the name on that box of twinkies will change from hostess, to general mills or some other company that often deals in food stuffs.

so relax people, unlock the safe, stop stock pileing your hoho, your twinkies and your ding dongs.

Everything is going to be fine! XD

Was funny. Bought dad two boxes the day before they finally announced actually closing down. Not that it matters to me. I never did like Twinkies.

well, they are going poof, because everyone suddenly decided to hit the stores so even if there wasn't a supply disruption, which there is, you couldn't find them.

I did hear that Hostess plans to sell their assets, so maybe someone like RJR Nabisco can pick up where they left off.

You've got it in one. As I posted elsewhere, do not despair. A corporate entity tried to kill my childhood recently. And Christmas for me, to boot. The Fullcreem Co's custard was discontinued. The deep sadness in my community was expressed in the media, and another company came to the rescue. Full Cream Custard now exists, with a different spelling in a different company but the same recipe so my state's Christmas can continue as it was. If 2 million Western Australians can do that, what can 350 million Americans do?

I did as a kid.  Perhaps I still would, but I haven't had any Hostess products for a very long time because they were never really on sale.

There sadly have been to many people going crazy over this.  Seriously a box of ten twinkies sold online for $30+ USD.  Come on you think someone out there isn't going to realize this is going to still make money??  Some one will buy the company or parts and keep it going... We just need to wait till monday and find out.
Also I just want to say what the heck........... Their is something very fishing going on with Hostess... Who has ever herd of a company threating to close their door because of a union and then doing it.  Especially since the unions demands didn't seem unreasonable they wouldn't really even bother to negotiate.  Oh darn lets raise our price by 10 cents a product to cover our costs.

Sorry Sir snowpaws I haven't spoken out anywhere else on line so you got the dump
