So Long Hostess....

by
Sadly, it is official, Hostess is out of business. :-(

American can bail out its major motor companies, but can't save the Twinkies.... I'm gonna miss those wonderful snakcs, especially the orange flavored cup cakes :-(

And now, a moment of sadness for the loss of my edible childhood :-(

This brought to you by corporate cheapness gone to far. Because they really didn't want to pay
their employes the 8% they earned. (really. the employee's went on strike because they wanted
to cut their pay by 8% and closed down several factories)

Yes, the end of an American Icon. Honestly, I can't tell you how long it's been since I ate any of their products. Yet they are an indelible part of almost every American kid's life experiences. A sad day.

Do not despair. A corporate entity tried to kill my childhood recently. And Christmas for me, to boot. The Fullcreem Co's custard was discontinued. The deep sadness in my community was expressed in the media, and another company came to the rescue. Full Cream Custard now exists, with a different spelling in a different company but the same recipe so my state's Christmas can continue as it was. If 2 million Western Australians can do that, what can 350 million Americans do?
