I recently learned that Windows Live Messenger (MSN) is dying next year...
"Shit!", I exclaimed, since it's been my main chat service for like 15 years or such.
Then I learned that you can use your Windows Live account to log on to Skype in the current Skype Beta and through that move all your WLM contacts over to Skype.
"Dicksauce!" I exclaimed to that. "They're closing the most customizable messenger service (animated icons, custom emoticons etc.) and force everyone to move to the least customizable messenger service?"
This also annoyed me since Skype has always been my "Family members only" messaging service, using my irl name and a photo of myself. I didn't wanna add random strangers to that... (No offense guys =P )
Fortunately a quick Google search led me to find how to run two different instances of Skype at once and since the move to Skype will pretty much become mandatory soon enough I went and did it at once. Now I have one account on Skype for my family and another for the rest of you running simultaneously =)
I also moved all my WLM contacts to the new account so if you had me added on WLM I'll still be around only using Skype to chat with you, even if you're still on WLM. Though if you're moving to Skype or if you have a Skype account you're using feel free to tell me and I'll add that too/instead. The thing is that if I have you on WLM and then add you on Skype on the same account I'll have you twice in the contacts list and I'll prefer to avoid that =)
For those of you who doesn't already have me on Skype (or WLM) and wanna chat some time, feel free to add me, info's on my profile =P
That's all for this odd little rant, see you all around!
