Back Home!! [Edit]By carterdalmation, 5 hours ago Hopefully all my problems with my belly pain will be over in six weeks. I had surgery today to fix a very rare type of hernia called a Spigelian hernia. This type of hernia accounts only for 1 to 2 percrnt of all hernias and usually occurs in females in the 4th to 7th decade of life on the right side. So the fact that I as a young male got one on the left side made it an extremly rare case, i suppose thats part of the reason it took so long (six months for those who havent read my journals) . The other reason iis that the hernia was hiding in between layers of muscle making it invisible to all the xrays cat scans and mri's that i had.In either case I had surgery at noon today to fix it. I am doing okay though am in a lot of pain and will be for a bit the dr said. No work for a week and a half and doc said need to take it easy for at least six weeks. It was done traditionally rather than laproscopically since they needed full access. So since it was not minimally invasive I do have a large 3 inch incision on the left side but at least im on the road to recovery.I wanted to thank you all for all the well wishes you guys have left over the months it means alot
.Love you All

Ps for those who are curious here is the incision
