Happy Scaryday, folks!

Hope you all have (or had!) a great Halloween, with candy and all that!

For my part though... eh, not so happy. Because I had work, I wasn't able to go trick or treating with someone I promised I would go with; he was pretty seriously crushed.

I'm feeling like crap now, all droopy-kitsune like. Got no idea how to make this up.
Craaaaap. Not even all this candy is gonna make me feel better.

Although I did almost trip on the way to the door earlier and a kid (bout 13 or 14) jokingly said: "Aw, no, you're stoned, mate!"

My response? "Hah. I bloody wish, man."
Then... I'm not kidding, he says, "Oh yeah? Want some?"

*head-desk!* I know the little bugger too, and I don't think he was bluffing. For all I know, his entire trick or treater group was high as a bunch of early-teenaged roadies. I had to laugh at their audacity. Good kids, really; noisy buggers but they aren't the ones causing trouble around here.

BTW - No, I didn't really want any, I didn't ask for any, and I sure as fuck don't advocate the consumption of mind altering drugs as a minor.
... I'm not going to stick my head in the sand and pretend it doesn't happen though.
Or say I didn't. It's pretty crap though, kind of over-rated. Don't bother with it, kids. Waste of money, it makes you stink like a pig-shit scented air freshener and your eyes feel gross - at least.

Instead, spend your money on CAAAAAAAANDY! :D

Or, you know, booze. At least that doesn't cause schizophrenia, and after a few hangovers you'll hopefully learn your lesson.

Kidding. Shut up. Happy Halloween. :P

I think out of all the drugs I've done, alcohol was the worst :P

There are some studies here in the States now that are suggesting candy can form addictions that affect the mind in ways similar to cocaine.

I don't need a joke for that.

I dunno, My salvia trip lasted for two minuets, but in that time, the room opened and I saw dozens of parallel universes whizzing past me. crazy shit.

Oh! uhh, don't do drugs!

I'm sure there is a way you can make it up to your friend, but, only you would know how to do that.

Okay, weed? Causing Schizophrenia? Old wives tale. It doesn't "cause" Schizophrenia, it just has the POTENTIAL to trigger something that already exists within someone. Has it happened? Sure. But then again, the people it does cause it for already have a family history of schizophrenia, they smoke huge amounts of weed (like, ten times more the average pothead) and they also consume other illicit drugs with it. Fact is, weed has no more or less ability to "cause" schizophrenia than beer, meth, or head trauma. Hell, people that already HAVE schizophrenia can use weed to control episodes. As well as people with epilepsy.

Weed does not make you stink. Just take a fucking shower, wash your clothes, use air freshener, and just general fucking hygene. The eyes get mildly irritated due to acute dehydration of the eyes. Use some eye drops and you are fine.

Know what's bad about weed? It causes short-term memory issues (which go away after one stops smoking), and causes a lower sperm count when smoked in large amounts over an extended period of time. It also causes the munchies and euphoria.

Should kids take it? No. Not because it's illegal, but one it's too expensive for a kid to be spending money on it when they could be spending that money on actual food and going to the carnival or buying Pokemon cards or something (prefer MTG myself).

Two, because when you are young and your brain is still developing, everything you experience is going into your subconscious and ultimately shapes your perception of the world, the decisions you will make when you are older, and partially controls the type of person you will grow into. Ergo, anything that impedes on a clear perception of the world around you when you are young I feel should not be in your life. Weed, for most people, impairs perception. Some people it improves, but these people are few and far between.

Look, in all honesty, most wouldn't think you condone kids smoking. You obviously care about them. So don't defend yourself against an attack that never happened and has almost no chance of happening. Most of us are well aware of your stance on something like this even without you saying so. Besides, these things cause people like me to point out how much you actually know about weed :3

Speaking of which, you can make it up to your friend by taking your day off to take him to an arcade or something (Boomers or Dave&Busters are awesome) and fork over like $20 for gaming and buy him lunch. Or treat him to a movie and a dinner or something. Not an actual date (that's be weird and questionable) but just a couple a buds hanging out.

Or you can go the cheap route, find out his personal tastes, and get him a porno or a sex toy. Seriously, when I was that age I would have killed for a pocket vagina! :D

I know all that, I was just being facetious. Although I have never heard of people using it to control schizophrenic episodes.

With regards to smell, irritated eyes and so on, showers don't seem to help much for me. Still makes me feel gross - besides, most of the time, there's a little period between when I smoke and when I can get into the shower. After all, I'm usually messing around with friends at the time.

"Besides, these things cause people like me to point out how much you actually know about weed :3"
Statement's a little absurd in light of the fact that I've had quite a lot of exposure to it since I was 14 myself. >:3
Was just making a few jokes, and yes I do know that it only has the possibility of triggering psychological issues such as schizophrenia and depression in people pre-disposed to it. I've read the damn studies. :P
And while I'm sure my regular readers know I don't condone (officially) anything illegal, such as underage drinking/smoking, I sometimes feel obligated to toss that out there for the fuckwits who stumble across this page and decide to get themselves whipped into a self-righteous frenzy over something I said.

Truth be told, in my experience and understanding, most underage pot smokers I know or have known have grown to be absolutely fine. Just about everyone tries it out when they're a teenager here - most of them don't even bother to lie about it.

As for my neighbor... ugh. He seems okay now, but it isn't easy to really do much with him. I've mentioned him in a journal before: he's afraid to leave his street (sometimes he isn't safe there) because of local douchebags, his mother's just weird, and I'd have to get him on a car or bus to take him to the nearest fun place like those. :C
I planned on taking him with my friends and I to a theme park though. Just hope my friends are mature enough to handle having a younger person hanging out with us. Probably not. >_>

In the meantime, I just gave him all the leftover halloween candy. As for porn, well, not entirely legal yet. >:3

Ah, I apologize, I didn't see any facetiousness there. One of those really hard expressions to pull off in writing without alluding to it with narrative.

Generally speaking, if I'm not ranting my head off, I'm being silly. The problem is that 90% of my journals are probably rants. :P
I'm actually a pretty upbeat person in real life, but reading my journals might give the wrong impression at first.

I also do have to watch the things I say on these journals too. If there is a perception that I promote illegal activity, due to the "realistic" and "political" nature of the things I write and the fact I have less anonymity than many others (a bad combination), then things could get difficult. So I have to cover my ass as neurotically as possible.

But right now, I'll give my most honest opinion in this comment: I don't give a shit about the fact some of the neighborhood kids smoke pot, and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Go for it, and a little experimentation with booze and/or sex won't kill them either. I have a realistic view on these 'issues' because I remember my own teenage years and the only conclusion I can give is that these 'issues' are non-issues in 95% of cases.

I feel that the best way to handle the matter is to expose and mentor kids in the responsible use of these substances, especially alcohol, not try to flail around forbidding, punishing, jailing (or jailing parents) and spreading lies. Honestly, education, realistic expectations and some slack on the leash of experimentation is the best approach. The exact same logic as is behind effective sex-ed (versus lie-and-panic-filled abstinence based "sex ed"). As for adults, some of the most functional, successful people I know occasionally partake of stuff far stronger than pot.

So that's my real opinion, not to get too much into it. I'm not keen on debating the issue right now (no time). I'm just trying to make a point: most likely, if someone else were to ask me or I was to put my 'opinion' in a journal it'll be: "Oh god no, never, don't touch it, it's illegal and makes you kill your family dog while raping your grandmother. Here's a good educational film for you about it."

lol, gotcha. Just a little misunderstanding on my part. I tend to get a bit heated with substance misconceptions, so I apologize.

So booze?

... Yes. Why not. :P
