The plow is coming! Moving day is at hand!

Zephie and I have been making preparations to move to our new apartment in Kirkland. This includes packing up all our stuff in stages so we don't get exhausted nor procrastinate too much. One of the last things we will be stuffing into item chests to be placed behind puzzle-locked doors in our new dungeon, will be our computers.

Fortunately, I've already scheduled a tech to come out from Comcast to hook up internet in our new place. I've heard some bad reviews about their customer service, but they seem to be the easiest, fastest option in our area. Sure, Verizon FiOS supposedly serves Kirkland and Juanita, but I checked their site and oops! No service for our particular address. And Google Fiber is spreading from Kansas City, so it'll be a bajillion* years before they get here. *bajillion: probably 1-3ish.

The long and short of it is thus: From Friday through Sunday we will have little or no internet connectivity. Sunday will be mostly unpacking anyway, aided by my father and stepmom. Saturday is ALL moving, so we won't have much time for gallivanting off to the land of HTTP anyways.

Oh, and as for the plow... I'm actually several days short of getting Exalted with the Tillers, so no Earth-Slasher Master Plow for me yet.

I think the rats would be a little nervous about helping a fox and wolf.  Instincts and all that.... but the nifty magic jewelry would be useful for packing boxes.

Mmm, but we could help them as well--our relative size would be an advantage in cases where they would otherwise need massive pulley systems and dozens of ratpower to hoist and relocate things like cinder blocks.

Very true.  But how long can you resist the urge to hug the cute mice?  Or bonk your noggin with said cinder block?  That may slow things down a bit.

What do you mean? I've lived in Washington all my life. This move is less than 20 miles.

Good luck on your move. You may want to look into Frontier FiOS because that's who purchased up Verizon's FiOS. Also Google Fiber is apparently spreading from both Kansas Cities since they didn't specify which one. =p Hope you'll survive w/o interwebs. X3 See you when you're back up and running. =)

Blargh... apparently Frontier does offer competitive plans in our area. Oh well, I'll look into switching later on if Comcast turns out to suck--we will be there for a while, and Comcast was at least something QUICK so we won't have interrupted service for TOO terribly long.

EDIT: Actually never mind--Frontier's best offer in our area is "up to" 25Mbps, while what I ordered from Comcast costs about twice as much and boasts twice the "maximum" speed. I place no faith in such indicators of maximum speed--but unless Comcast's ratio is less than half of Frontier's, I will have faster through them. (Whether it's the better deal is another matter entirely--we shall see what we shall see.)
