So finally got around to opening up my Sega CD Model 1 to see if I could fix the console connectors plastic shielding. Unfortunately all but ONE screw port has crumbled and broken. Not something that can be easily fixed I don't think. Also discovered one of the screw ports beneath that hold the connector in place is broken as well. Not too worried about that though as the connector holds itself very firmly in place. Not sure where I could find another side piece though. Looked online for replacement parts or old broken model 1 sega cd's for cheap and craigslist but no luck sadly.

Hmm,  I have a Sega CD in storage.  I don't know if it works (I don't have a power supply for it), but it has a case, at least.

An old Model 1 or Model 2?

Oh man.. I still kinda remember those..
Might want to try amazon or ebay next.  I'm sure someone has 'something' for it hiding away or for sale somewhere.

Good luck!  *lick*   <3

~edit~  Checked ebay..  no parts,  but they've got a few whole systems for sale  (Sega + cd drive) for around $50

Yeah. That was the issue. I found working ones on ebay for a lot of money. However I don't necessarily need a working one. Mine works fine. Just the shell is in poor condition.

if you give up on that S/CD gime a poke :)

And you can rebuild the posts if you absolutly have to.
Time consuming and a bit messy but you can do it.

Yeah. I know theres ways to rebuild posts. Might be something to look into. Also I will never give up on it :P Took me more than 10 years to get it in the first place and I want to collect all the Sega systems so kinda need it. It's also an important part of the Sega tower!
