What kind of future awaits me in this community?

I've only been drawing furries for 4 years. Sometimes I wonder where I'll be in 10 years, that 2034 when I will be a 33-year-old man. Am I dead? Have I stopped drawing? Or will I continue in the furry community?🤔 The only thing that is certain is that the quality of my art will be much better, because I will have improved a lot, I will be so professional and famous.

I started thinking this after an idiot user wrote me a comment saying "your trash drawings are worse than mediocre". The ironic thing is, this was said by a guy who draws worse than me, and who has been on Inkbunny for 14 years and hasn't accomplished anything, the loser only has a thousand followers😆

That's why when I will have 14 years in Inkbunny too, I must undoubtedly be much better and bigger than him. A legend of furry art. My biggest dream is to inspire others, being the favorite artist of many, motivate younger artists, teach them, and crush those who hate me. Can I do it?❤️

Your current art has quality, you will have more quality, you will end up being recognized, you continue doing what you like

Huh, You're almost the same age as me, I wasn't expecting that, at least due to the interests in older media. Yeah just as long as you keep on working hard, you'll see a lot of growth over time. If you look at my art gallery from the first page 2 years ago compared to now, I feel it can give a good gauge on how much a few years can do.

Even your "worst" drawings look better than mine. So on that way of improvement you are already far ahead.
I don't even have a graphics tablet, but I'm absolutely sure that by 2025 I'll have one and a new PC too.
Tell me, was your graphics tablet one of the expensive ones or the cheap one?

Oh yeah maybe that isn't a good gauge, But as a reference, I've been drawing seriously for nearly 10 years now, before then, I barely even knew how to draw eyes or a face

I would recommend Huion Inspiroy as a starter drawing tablet, its around $50. It doesn't have a screen but you can pretty much do everything up to a professional level even without a screen, it just takes a bit of time to get used to drawing that way, maybe a few months. I've only started using a screen tablet 2 years ago. If you do want a screen, either Huion or Xp Pen can work out, I wouldn't recommend Wacom anymore unless you want luxury, which don't really matter as much.

--edit. My current drawing tablet is a XP Pen 24in pro Gen 1 with 2k resolution. With screen tablets you either need a good amount of desk space, or you have to get an adjustable monitor arm to swivel it around which I use myself

I've seen your art for years, I always assumed you were much older. Your art is way too good for your age LMAO. But then again there are child prodigies at like 5 years old

Personally, i stopped viewing any and everything on the internet as a "community".
Its just a collection of individuals. There is no "community", only at best shared interests.

True for just about the entire internet.
Nothing good comes from these fancy ideas of being in a "community", suggesting that there is some kind of bond between people and that they share some unseen connection just because they use the same platform/service or like the same things.

Take the dude who insulted you.
Its just a random nickname on your screen the same way i am.
Doesnt belong anywhere, nor do i, nor do you. We all just use the same platform.

Finally in regards of your art: Meh, seen so much that is so, SO much worse.
You got room to improve, which means there is a lot more room for you to experience the joy of doing better, and besides:
Art is always drawn first and foremost as self-expression. Even if you do collabs, even if you do subs, works, etc, its the you speaking through those lines and faces you draw.

Especially as long as you draw for yourself, never put too much emphasis on the critique of others. Thats not how art works.
Its the sanctity of your own mind and own hands.

I would say it would depend a bit on community, if some people have an interest in finding a community online, then there would be more focus on sharing and communication. Some will get more out of communities and connect with others more if they choose to.
--Also, while there is a huge importance in self expression, part of art I feel also is a way of communicating with others. Art evolves and adapts depending on feedback that is given, positive or negative. Maybe one can see their work in a different perspective or find inspiration based on what another artist's interests were. It still will be up to the artist themselves to take the critique or not since it is their work overall.

Totally true, art is self-expression

So long as you do not stagnate, I doubt your audience will fade. Whether it will grow is hard to say, but maintaining it is a relatively simple affair. I know that you inspired me, that much is certain.

I'm 41 and you currently have more output than I did at your age.  You should be fine, if not improve.
