This website has an obsession with Cubs😌

When I post the drawing of adult characters, it gets the modest amount of 10 or so favs. But when it's Cub, it can reach 30, 40, 80 or more favs...
Once, a friend criticized me saying "you just draw cubs, for attract easy favs" and I don't want him to be right😅  I will not be an artist who only works with cubs, I will never be stuck in just one genre, but I have obviously already identified what the audience likes the most.

I take this opportunity to mention that I heard that shota/loli content was removed from Mastodon, obviously also from Twitter, and the boorus of it, were blocked. If Cub/Loli content was banned from the entire internet, I and thousands of artists would be in trouble, I hope that never happens.

I have a problem with that, with those who become moralists on the internet regarding that content.

My resounding answer to that is: My drawings are completely fiction and none of the characters that appear there represent real children, I do not approve of what is shown in my drawings happening in real life.

As someone who loves your art, I love more or less everything you post and it's always a treat to log into IB to see what you've drawn. It can be hard to find places to post when things can be controversial. But at the end of the day don't let it stop you from making art, even if you might have to find other places to post it.

"It's always a treat to log into IB to see what you've drawn". I loved that phrase, thank you.

Considering this site was created when FA was banning cub art, it's to be expected.

Same here, my cub stories with illustrations get about 10x the views and faves than the ones that are non-cub, but most of the people who watch me do so for the cubs so its not really a coincidence, but it goes both ways I mostly watch people who draw cubs or cub/adult stuff, that's how I came to watch you was from Kanga and Roo :D

My drawings of Kanga and Roo became more popular than I imagined, and that's what made me write this journal.

We have FA for adult furs, we like cubs better around here.

Its interesting because I didn't even know much about cubs until only 3 years ago, before then I was using this place like any other website to post my furry art, though I've deleted all of that old stuff since it connects with my old account which I don't use anymore. I'm glad one of my commissioners got me to know more about this subject because for me at least, it has helped me express something I didn't know I was restricting myself on self made morals twitter pushed me into.

I had no idea FA was for adult characters and IB for cubs, I thought both platforms served the same purpose for general content. Thanks for letting me know.

Just draw what makes you happy and stop caring about the numbers

Something I've kept in mind is not to let the numbers get to my head and explore as much as I can, I do mostly post my cub stuff here, but in my main communities, I love to explore lots of different things, not really for views but just for personal fulfillment and learning. For some artists it's more focus on marketability, but for me I want to make full paintings even if they take longer and may not get as much views.

--Yeah for cub, this is one of the only places it seems like to freely post, I kind of wish there was more of a forum or something like that on inkbunny since I feel like while all of us artists are sharing our works, there isn't much on getting to connect with one another, learn techniques, inspirations or interests. Though I guess that can depend on the social climate

You are absolutely right and let me tell you that you are a true artist in every fucking sense! Your drawings are amazing, beautiful and you show a talent that I envy.
So let's keep focusing on drawing what makes us happy.

Very fun, with how things are now with artists and social media, I do feel that finding our own identity in our works has been more of a lost art, instead focused on being the loudest artist in the room for likes, follows, money, to fit in with people that would just press like and scroll onto the next thing. If you look at the artists of before, even if some of the artists may not have as much skill, you can really tell that they really had something to say and had their own style. Compared to how artists in social media all pretty much try to tell the same thing, and it may be a bit of eyecandy to have great skills in perspective and color, if it all says the same thing, it can feel a bit stale and shallow after a while.

--I guess in general, while it is a lot harder to find our own voice, it's completely worth it, compared to making what everyone else tells us to make, or wants us to think. Same with getting a genuine audience vs being popular, quick popularity will make it hard to branch out, but a genuine audience is there for you being you even if it's slow to grow.

IB wasn't originally created to be for cubs.  It was around before FA banned em, that happened almost a decade ago and I've been on this site for more than that.

To be honest, that always surprises me. I mean, I remember reading that cub only made up about 10% of the total art on Inkbunny in 2010, so I figured the percentage would be similar 14 years later. Evidently, I was wrong.

Actually, it's because your art isn't even mid.

What do you mean by that?
