Nintendo's Decision to Region Lock the Wii U

by
Region Locking your devices is a lot like saying "Please hack us. We want to be cracked and pirated as soon as possible."

I can see why, considering how hard Australia gets shafted for games, DVDs, Blurays and music.

As one of the few non-bandit raccoons, it sucks for me. :S Maybe I should just go Sith...

If they didn't region lock it they might not be allowed to sell it in various regions, you know. The whole "games cost more here because taxes are higher" thing.

There are also countries where games are much cheaper, because the average wage is so much lower there. And they don't want us all importing games from those countries.

Hmm, I wish that is possible.  I want to have Homebrew Channel for the Wii U.

Unfortunately, that won't be possible.  If no one can hack the 3DS, then it isn't possible to hack the Wii U.  I'm not saying that it's impossible.  There's a way to everything.  I'm sure someone will solve it.

Nintendo should die already.  Ever since rejecting the SNES CD addon that became the PS1, Nintendo has been making stupid decisions and getting away with them because of their popularity caused by their revolution to gaming, but no one can live on fame forever.  Their systems have been getting cheaper and more gimmicky to the point that the only reason a person would want to buy games for the system is because they are exclusive to those systems.

If anything, Nintendo should contract to make games for the Vita, and stop selling their piss poor hardware.

It also says oh so desperately: "We like to waste money on R&D for protection schemes instead of making our products better."

As anyone with a bricked copy of Animal Crossing: Wild World for the DS can tell you, Protection schemes are a little worthwhile.

Are you talking about the Red Tulips glitch? Because that wasn't an antihack; it was a fuck up.

Oh no, I am not saying it was an antihack. BUT, with the ability to patch, they can combat these things. DS did not have patching abilities.
