Hello again from Flynn :3
Today I'd like to bring about the unique adaptation of Wings amongst Dragons.
Do all Dragons have Wings?
No. And how do you know which ones do and which ones dont?
Its easy, you just have to know how a dragon hunts.
Dragons that have to hunt far from their nests, are likely to develope wings.
but you also have to into considerations what they hunt and where they hunt.
For example,Valley Dragons live in the bases of mountains and their nests are close to their prey, which tend to be valley dwellers like deers and rabbits. But Mountain Dragons, which live in caves high in the mountains develope wings for they have to fly down to gather food.
in some cases Dragons that hunt far dont develope wings. Ocean Dragons dont develope wings ofcourse for they develope gills instead. they must hunt far for their nests.
Dragon Wings are very interesting adaptations, for they are a unique trait due to evolution. When certain dragon species for seperated from near by food sources they had to develope Wings. the long process led to this. Dragon Wings are closely related to the components of Bat Wings. The only different is the skin is retilian which allows for better motor control and wind breaking glides.
Thats all for today, see you guys later :D
