This is not how you do business.

by
I am not going to name anyone, but I had a pretty awful experience dealing with an artist on Twitter.  I will just refer to her as "her".  I wasn't going to commission this artist but she went into a speil of how parents passed and she's taking care of the family.   Whether it's true or not, I gave her the benefit of the doubt.  I commissioned a picture with no background half body full color for $50.  She said she gave me discount for first time customer.  Okay, that's fine.  Well, I finally get the picture a month later.  It has a background.  She now says she wants $80 for it.  I told her, I never asked for a background.   She said it looks better with a background.  That's not how you do business, but okay fine whatever.  I gave her an extra $15.  I wasn't really looking to pay $80 for a commission in the first place.   She says she doesn't get many commissions.  I gave her some advice on what she should do to get more commissions but she didn't listen to me at all.  She took zero advice from me.  I kept telling her she needs a portfolio but she was so worried about people stealing her art.  Like, do you want business or not?  People need to see what you actually draw and ensure your not some AI artist or some other imposter.  I also told her to stop reposting other people's work on twitter without giving them credit.  She still does it.  I am like talking to a dead wall.  I try to be friendly with her and she just ignores me.  Like for example, I asked what programs she uses.  She just said multiple.  Like, why can't you be specific?  It's not like I am asking for her address.  I don't understand why is she so secretive.  I am trying to be friendly and stuff. I talk about what I like and don't like in general, ya know just friendly stuff.  Well, what she does she do? She keeps asking me if I want a commission.  I kept telling her I have no money for commissions.  I really don't.  I have been in a tight bind since 2022 and she was the first commission I got since then.  She totally ignores my money situation and it really made me angry.  I finally told her off that I don't want to deal or talk to her anymore.  To this moment, she has yet to apologize.  People like that do not deserve business.  Sorry if this is long, but I just need to get it off my mind.

Making you pay for something you did not ask for is BAAADD! I would pretty much black list all business with her.

I am not so sure about the second halve though, nobody is obligated to be your friend and it kind o sounded like you tried to force yourself open her, for lack of a better phrase.

Yes, I agree, but I really wanted to help her get more customers but not anymore.
