Borderlands 2 Paradox

So I've seen lots of people who have this weird problem with the game. So you got Borderlands 2 and you want to play online with your friends since that's the best way to do it. But there is one problem. When you are connected to the internet the game stutters HORRIBLY. It's like a slideshow. To fix it you have to physically unplug your internet. So you can only play the game solo. Kinda retarded if you ask me.

That may be an issue with Gearbox being a bit too generous on how much bandwith Steam allocates to Borderlands 2 for updates of statuses (like what your friends do inside the game right now) and thus may cause frame-rate issues.

It might also be hardware-related. I'll tell you more in 24 hours when the game's out for me.

I see. Well I wouldn't know. But from what I've seen so far going offline in Steam does not help. You need to physically remove your internet connection, meaning unplug the modem to fix it.

Hmm. I'm not having any issues just yet with it.  Didn't see any stuttering the one time I played with another.

This a game issue. Doesn't have to do with lag or anything like that. The game just stutters like crazy whether you play online or not until you plug out your internet completely.

The original Borderlands has this problem too, but I'm not sure if it affects single-player.

i haven't seen horrible stuttering on online..., then again my pc is shit and i'm running 1024x768, no FXAA no antistropic filters and low view distance, and both quality things on medium. going smoothly (like 50-60fps)

No you don't understand. It's not a hardware issue. I've seen some people that could run 5 of these at same time yet they have stuttering because they have their modem on. Turn it off and it runs perfect.

If you connect using a USB cable you'll get that problem it seems.
