changed my sleeping hours - what this means

by
And it's that time again...
This has happened several times, so I've come to sort of expect it at this point. I was on night time hours for a while and kind of abruptly switched to days over a period of about 4 or 5 days I think. At the moment I am kind of brain dead / depressed because of this. Feels kind of like constantly being in a daze and never fully awake. I hope it will wear off after a couple of days of forcing myself to sleep at night. When I get like this, I'm not good for conversation and usually avoid people like the plague. So, that's what I doing as of now. To anybody that can and will take this personally: No, I don't hate "you". No, it isn't your fault. No, I'm not dead. Just give me some time and I'll be alright. My head isn't right atm, I know this and I am taking care of myself.

Yeah, that sounds like classic 'jet lag/shift change/ minor sleep deprivation' symptoms to me, you'll be back to your old self in a few weeks, a month at most.  Expect minor depression-like symptoms to continue over time as you realize that your new schedule will reduce the time you spend with old friends, due to schedule conflicts.

I've been working night shift jobs for about 10 years now, and I think my body's going to.go into shock when I get done with school and switch to a day shift. But I find it best when you do switch gears is to just dedacate a day off to just sleeping the whole day, your body will need it.

Sleep as much as your body needs, then nap (or workout) whenever you get sleepy! That's what I do XD
