LOL FA U SU FUNNEH

So I hear that FA is down (thank you god/gods) and hopefully it's because the site was deleted thanks to the admins (here's hoping) but they're also getting rid of a lot of sonic art and claiming that they're not going against sonic art and since when has FA ever lied to us?

Skye; Well there was that vislink fiasco, the random banning and deletions of accounts and art, not to mention  the time when they-

That's enough, no talking bad about FA or they'll bitch and moan about it on your profile (as one of them did a week or so ago, was removed because FA can go fuck itself) and then if you have the same email for this site as FA they'll delete your account (they can and will, happened once this past month with a test to see how fast they can ban for no reason if you complain about them in forums, took about a week or so) basically, never complain about FA on FA or you'll be banned for no reason on FA but it will be listed as "cub art" even if you had nothing on your profile

Skye; but what if I complain her- *ACCOUNT DELETED*

The cause is listed here. Rare but bad when it does happen to a server

We have IB for cub art though.

server errors can be user caused, aka from the admins, if you read it all you'd see the part where I said "(here's hoping)"

I know its called buffer overflows and crashes the system. That being said a RAID failure can do it too.  I have degrees in networking technologies X3.

I saw the "here's hoping" part. I just not want ot lose all the art I paid for and am still owed. I also have good friends there who detest IB and say its for pedos due to IB reputation for cub porn. So I balance between the 2 sites.

I mean no ill will I promise. I was just sharing what I found ^^

Skye; well I for one think it's a wast-

shush you, you got banned.

But yeah. i dislike it due to the 5 bans I've gotten for no reason, listed as "cub" or just not listed

I have no movement there, maybe that's why i haven't been banned..

Maybe instead of being a piss ant and having a hissy fit, you just deal with it?
Five bans? How the bloody blue fuck did you even manage that?

Honestly, if you were banned THAT many times you deserved it completely.

oh hey, fuck you.

I did nothing to deserve any bans and next time you come onto one of my journals and comment like that i'll act like an FA admin
wolfstar124
11 years, 6 months ago
sorry about my last comment but the point still stands, you came here, commented saying I deserved to be banned for no fucking reason, then also berated me down below.

I'm even more pissy now since my mate of 6 months broke up with me the day before this journal, if I had made this a few days before i'd go on listing points as to other reasons why I hate FA
Demesejha

I'm sorry to hear about your mate.

My comment was not that you randomly deserved to be banned.
My comment was that if you had been prior suspended five times, and STILL disobeyed the rules, you should have been permabanned. I would have done the same if it were my website.
wolfstar124

I never disobeyed the rules except for the ONE time I TRIED to get banned using a separate email and account
Demesejha

That's actually one of the biggest rules you can break in their terms of services, socks are strictly against the rules and always result in a ban.

This is my stance on FA: https://inkbunny.net/journalview.php?id=48303

I feel bad when FA goes down because of all the struggling artists who depend on it for income. =/ I hope they're going to be okay. v_v

( Plus think if all the trolls of FA had to find a new 'home', that would suck... >_<; )

Is FA really that bad? I just joined it about a month or so ago. I find it pretty friendly, and easy to use. I haven't met any admins, nor had any problems there. Not trying to step on your toes or anything, I just really would like some input on why Furaffinity is "bad".

As it is, I can't decide which website FA or Inkbunny that I want to post the bulk of my artwork to. I'll probably just use both for the sake of reaching a wider audience.

ive been using for well over a year, in that year i've had the misfortune of meeting the admins who act like douchebags and ban or suspend for no reason then lie about it. they lie about their website running diagnostic programs, they let vislink sit for 6 days before they said they used it.

Basically, FA can such a huge 900lbs cock and choke on it
FoxWolfie

I've used FA for about six years. Except for a handful of short outages over those years, and one extended outage, the site has been wonderful.  It is *usually* quite fast, and is one of the most intuitive art sites that I've seen so far.  Yes, Ink Bunny is great too, probably because it offers a nearly duplicate set of features, and is also fast. I honestly can't think of a single art site that is as easy to use and as fast as these two.

The users and the admins I've communicated with on FA have been very friendly, and I've never had any problems there.  The same is true of the admins here as well.  On the other hand, I have run into several users here that I had to block.

In almost all cases where someone complains loudly about FA, or even IB or other sites, it is because they were suspended or banned for breaking the rules.  Some people simply don't like to be told what they can or can't do, even on privately owned sites like these.  When it happens, some of them go on a hate rage campaign, trying to pull as many others along with them as they can - often to the point of harassment.   Sadly, I've had to block people over it, and it's been the only reason I've ever had to block anyone so far.

Use FA, use IB, or use both - depending on which options work best for you. Don't base it on what other people say. Base it on your own personal experiences on these sites.  I'm on both, because they both work well for me. FA is much larger, which allows me to see more great art. IB, is smaller, but has some art that is not available on FA, so being on both let's me see everything.  I sometimes wish there was an automated way to hide art on one site that I've already seen on the other.
wolfstar124

and sometimes I wish I never had to deal with the admins of FA that banned me when I had never done ANYTHING on that site, i went, watched 3 people, then was banned...3 times. 2 for "cub" when I had never posted anything with cub in it or associated myself with any cub art on the site, and the most recent one was for "disruption and disorderly conduct" when I had no one watched and had been on for a DAY a SINGLE day, had talked to no one, had sent no messages, had posted nothing, I used the same email though so i suppose they autobanned me or something. Not to mention the bans that had no mention of WHY I was banned.

AND THAT MY SIR IS WHY I DISLIKE FA, that and the fact that all the users that messaged me in the past were complete douchers and told me that they would "fuck me so hard that you would fucking die kid, that's all you're good for anyways, being a cumdumpster faggot" (actual quote from a message I received roughly 6 months ago)
Demesejha

No, its not nearly half as bad as this guy makes it out to be.
The admins can be assholes at times and the staff IS the reason why most people mock the site and leave it.
To be quite frank though most of the time they leave you alone.

Just happens to be that this time one of them got a super sized pickle up his ass, thought he'd go on a "justice" spree so he could wank to his abuse of power and then people raided the site, so its down. Plain and simple.
Pocketmew
11 years, 6 months ago
People raided the site? I thought it was a physical malfunction of hardware. Anywho, I haven't ever seen an admin act out of line. I was actually surprised how lenient they were on cub after their donation provider told them to take it down. Like as in, they still allow aged up characters, and pokemon/mlp. I'm just going to stick to both Inkbunny and Furaffinity. Why limit yourself to one gallery. ^^; Plus honestly, there is just so much more people at FA. And they've always been very nice.
wolfstar124
11 years, 6 months ago
most people are actually douchebags if you get to know the higher-up/popufurs, Sonic has recently been killed and cub was NEVER lenient, you got an autoban if you didn't take the pic/pics/comment down within an hour.

as for "nice admins" ... WTF ARE YOU SMOKING
Pocketmew
11 years, 6 months ago
I didn't say nice admins, I said I haven't seen them act out of line personally. The only people I ever see having a problem is the ones that break the rules, or people who are on the forums 24/7. And the popufurs, I've met quite a few. Some are nice, some aren't. Its a hit or miss. That is life though, not everyone is nice. I've also heard of the mud slinged at popular artists, so I kinda don't blame em sometimes. People saying "Why is she so popular, her art is smutty furshit with derpy eyes" <insert insult here. Yeah, that'd get me frustrated after awhile too..

As for the banning of cub...I find it surprising that they don't note you first prior to removing it. I would think the ban in 1hr thing would be for repeat offenders, or someone who obviously knows the cub rule but is blatantly ignoring it. If those aren't the case, you can appeal the ban. That is on the off-chance that this person didn't know cub art was wrong though...tbh read the rules though. I knew cub art wasn't allowed when I first join FA and looked at their policies.
wolfstar124
11 years, 6 months ago
the thing is; I never posted anything on FA, i used it to look at art. there was no cub art that could be removed because there was none that existed
FoxWolfie
11 years, 6 months ago
They do note you prior to banning or deleting, almost all cases.  If it is a repeat violation, or the offense was severe, they might not give warning.  Severe includes real photos of real sexual organs, bestiality, illegal drug use or child porn.  When people post real photos of these things, they are putting the site at risk, and because it is primarily an art site, it is almost guaranteed that such violations are intentional when they happen.  When someone is asked nicely to remove a picture of cubs having sex, and the poster reacts by submitting photos of his own penis, they get immediately banned.  If the same person simply followed the request and said, "sorry, I won't do that again," they would never be banned.  Some people practically beg to be banned, purely by their childish reactions to the rules.  Everyone I personally know who has had something removed was notified and given a chance to remove it on their own within a few days.  Everyone who is banned is told why.

The admins on FA and here have always treated me nicely and with respect. I've even made a few mistakes, and they've always worked with me, rather than against me.  I honestly think that most people who end up being banned present attitudes that are simply deserving of it.

As for the popular artists, some people are simply jealous of them and go out of their way to put them down.  Some individuals really aren't very nice.
wolfstar124
11 years, 6 months ago
welp, all thoughts of you not being a complete douchebag flew out the window after you stated that you thought I deserved to be banned for doing absolutely nothing
FoxWolfie
11 years, 6 months ago
Where did I say that?  The only place I even mentioned something about deserving, was in conjunction with people who were presenting attitudes that deserved being banned.  I never said that you did that.  It is true that *most* people who ultimately get themselves banned, present an attitude that forces the ban.  Most people who end up banned are those who cop an attitude and escalate an otherwise trivial offense into a ban.  I never said you did that.  You might notice my use of the word "most".  I also acknowledge that the admins are human, and occasional mistakes are made.  They are not very common though, and *most* bans happen for very good reason.  I've seen people call the admins just about every name you can imagine, and still not get banned, so I know well that it *normally* takes some real effort to be banned.

Sonic has not been "recently" killed. They made no changes recently to suggest that.  Certain types of Sonic porn were killed quite a while ago though, simply as part of the general ban on cub porn.  For the past couple years, the rules have been basically the same, with tiny adjustments to make them more clear for those with reading comprehension problems.

Generally, if something looks like cubs involved in porn, OR the creator of the porn says that the characters are underage, then it is not allowed.  Some people keep trying to find loopholes in the rules, then throw butt-hurt tantrums when they get caught.  If a person is not breaking the rules, AND they are polite to the administrators, then there is rarely ever a problem.  Having been a moderator on many sites, I can safely say that some users act worse than brat children, when they are caught breaking rules.  Often, they will turn a simple request to remove a picture into being permanently banned from a site, purely because of an inability to control their attitude.  Admittedly, with over 500,000 user accounts on FA, some mistakes are made as well.  Normally, when someone gets into trouble, and I look at the reasons, I see quickly that it was a direct result of their own actions.

you don't know about the mass sonic art deletions do you?
FoxWolfie
11 years, 6 months ago
I know about them.  I wouldn't quite define it as massive deletions, but there are a fair amount of them.  Most are being deleted based on having been flagged in trouble tickets ranging up to 6 or 7 months ago.  In other words, if they weren't behind on the tickets, there would have been deletions here and there happening gradually over that time period.  Nothing changed, They just happen to be getting to them at the moment.  I do know that a lot of what people have in their galleries has been in violation of the rules for a long time. I personally don't care, since I love Sonic art, especially of Tails, both clean and porn.  I'd never file a complain ticket over it, but many people did, and some of it was against the rules - generally the stuff they actually deleted.  Even though I don't report many things that I know are in violation, I don't have a lot of respect for the people who choose to put it up and leave it up, knowing full well what the rules are.  I'm not talking about the people with a few questionable posts that are hard to figure out with the rules. There are people with pages of clear violations, who leave their stuff up on purpose, simply because FA says it isn't allowed.

I'm personally not into reporting people for anything, unless it is for commercial spamming, or something like real photos showing murder or kids being forcibly used for sex.  Some people report every little thing that they don't like though.  When FA gets those reports, they act on them according to their rules, to the best of their ability. They also make a few mistakes here and there, because the admins are human too.  In my experience, and I've been around since the beginning, they have been very fair to people. I've seen several people trying to work around the system, to exploit loopholes in the rules, to get what they want, often at the expense of others, and those are usually the ones who end up having problems.

Consider that I love Sonic art, including the porn. I even had some cub porn art in my gallery. When they banned cub porn, I did as they requested and removed it.  If I had cub Sonic porn, I would have removed that too. They are not suppressing my rights by asking that I not post these things, as use of their site is not a right.  It's a free privilege. They've always been nice to me, perhaps because I respect the authority they have over the content on their own site.  Some people don't, and they tend to be the ones who are always complaining.
wolfstar124
11 years, 6 months ago
I was banned for nothing, read it again; nothing.

So if you were talking about me complaining and that getting me banned; why the hell would I complain while not banned and still get banned? the logic is flawed
FoxWolfie
11 years, 6 months ago
Strange.  I never said that you did something.  I just said why most bans happen, and you started defending yourself, as if you were guilty or something.   I honestly don't know why you were banned.  If you honestly don't know, why not simply ask the admin who did it, or Dragoneer himself.  FA logs the times and dates of any messages or actions that an admin takes when banning someone. If they never sent a message telling you the reason, that would be apparent in the logs.  If they did send something, what did it state as the reason?  I've seen them review decisions before, when asked nicely to do so.  The activity logs go all the why back to the beginning of the site.  If they found that no note was sent, and you were not told why you were banned, than they'd certainly ask the admin who did it. If that admin could not come up with a reason, then they would probably let you back on.  If they found that the admin did note you upon banning, then it would probably look bad for you, as that would be good evidence that you were informed of why.  At the very least, asking them nicely would go a long way to getting an answer.  If, in the process of asking them, a person uses words like douchebag, lie, fuck, retard, asshole, etc, the person on the other end would most likely simply hit delete and move on to the next message.  All I am saying is if you did nothing and are innocent, then there are ways to get answers for why it happened.

You just gotta love a site where the administration regularly power-trips and hassles you over a random point in the rules that's sometimes orthogonally differently interpreted by two different mods (not shitting you) because of the universally vague phrasing of said rules, reports take up to half a year of processing and if you point out they made a mistake they simply ban you (temp or even perma), make up a new rule that magicks the mistake into THE LAW(TM) and pretend it was always there.

Not to forget that the only way to become a part of the BADministration is, all "open searches" be damned, to be a (manchild-)friend of one of them. Or a fiancee. :3

In short, FA represents pretty much everything you can do wrong with a website.
