... what the hell? Dear god in heaven (and I'm basically an atheist!), what... the hell?
I can tell, without the need for my brief scan of the internet after watching Shyamalan's movie, that I'm not the only one to have been horrified at how spectacularly bad it was.
Forgive me for living under a rock, but... what the hell?! D8<
... if Shyamalan can get away with writing, directing and producing something that god-awful, why the hell am I so afraid of finishing ANYTHING that I myself write, draw, or dream of creating?!
Maybe they just should have spent a little longer fine-tuning the script, and the acting... or maybe it was just some idiot (Shyamalan himself, perhaps...?) editing it together so badly, like the night before it premiered, or something... and then there was the problem with the camera shots... damn it... that's an hour and a half I'll never get back... curse you Shyamalan, give me back those 90 minutes! D8
Ahh, I'd only waste them anyway. I mean, before I actually put the DVD on, I was only writing smutty nonsense, myself... heh. Can't go wrong with smut. X3
I mean, I didn't go see it at the cinema because... well, wow 3D, so what? The cartoon series told the story a hell of a lot better than Shyamalan's movie adaptation.
As far as hearing people say "it was pretty bad" though, I've noticed everyone tends to overreact and exaggerate and so on. And... people do have different tastes when it comes to movies.
For example, I went to see The Hunger Games (damned if I know why, all I could think of throughout was: "Where is the crew of the Enterprise? I'd love to see their Prime Directive in a situation like this! Ha!", due to watching Star Trek and playing STO), Dark Shadows and MIB3, all with my brother. (perhaps Hunger Games was his idea to go watch...?).
-- We both had slight misgivings about The Hunger Games, but I could honestly find no fault with the movie. I have not, and do not intend to, read the books, however.
-- I sort of enjoyed Dark Shadows, although it wasn't what I expected. In fact, I'm not even sure what I expected. It did seem a little roughly put together or arranged or something, but I certainly enjoyed it a whole hell of a lot more than my brother. I would buy it on DVD, long before I'd buy The Hunger Games.
-- MIB3... what can I say? I thoroughly enjoyed it! My brother did not. I don't think he "got it".
-- Prometheus: I went to that without my brother. He would not have enjoyed it. Seriously, I'm glad he wasn't there. I myself was more than a little disappointed. It just seemed, sometimes, to be a little over-the-top, just for the sake of being over-the-top. The story also seemed a little incomplete. I might still buy it on DVD (if, you know, everything wasn't so damned expensive. I mean, Airbender was a 2010 movie, and I only just watched it! Frankly, I wish I hadn't. At least I got the DVD in a 3-for-the-price-of-one at special. Along with SUPER and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.)
-- Incidentally, I was a little thrown by SUPER. It has certainly earned it's place in that dark corner of the cupboard shelf, along with Black Death and Pathfinder... or it would, if I could find my copy of Pathfinder... aside from the unnecessarily graphic violence, though, all three have far better plots than Shyamalan's The Last Airbender.
Seriously, though, I try to be a reasonable guy, I really do, but... if he was writer, producer and director, can we really blame anyone else for how bad the movie was? Is it really anyone else's fault? >=|

Damn it all! In the time it took me to compose this Journal I could have finished writing that smut!
Or a picture... most likely pornographic...
Heh. Smut. X3
