If you have comcast (xfinity) internet, this is good news.

Ok, everyone who has comcast internet. As of may 17 they have stopped enforcing the 250gig a month data usage limit. This means you can download and upload all you damn well please until further notice.

They will still be contacting "Excessive users" because they say that may be indicative of a security threat, but they will not cut you off or penalize you.

" Does this mean you're going to stop cutting people off who exceed your allowance?

Introduction

Frequently asked questions about excessive use of data.

Does this mean you're going to stop cutting people off who exceed your allowance?

On May 17, 2012, we announced the suspension of our 250 GB usage allowance and that we would launch new data usage plans. We will continue to contact the very small number of excessive users about their usage, which can be indicative of security or related issues.

This is great news. I hope their new data usage plans aren't worse, I wouldn't put it past Comcast.

No they are definitely giving us more, allot of people I have told this to say they had their speeds doubled (50mbit to 100mbit) and when I view my data usage meter, at about 250gigs it's half full so I'm assuming the new cap will be a minimum 500gigs per month.
